William Sackville, 11th Earl De La Warr
William Herbrand Sackville, 11th Earl De La Warr ( ; born 10 April 1948) is a British businessman, nobleman, and peer. He was styled Lord Buckhurst from 1976 until 9 February 1988, when he inherited upon the death of his father William Sackville, 10th Earl De La Warr. Business career Lord De La Warr was educated at Eton College. His financial career in the City of London began in 1976 as an investment banker working at Mullens & Co. For 24 years, he was a director of Laing & Cruickshank and later of its owner Credit Lyonnais Securities, where he published a tip sheet called ''The Earl's Earner'' and worked in senior equity sales. He was later a director of Shore Capital, working with its natural resources team in sales, and subsequently became a director of Cluff Natural Resources. Baron Buckhurst
The title Baron Buckhurst has been created twice; once in the Peerage of England and once in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. It was first created in 1567 for Thomas Sackville, MP for East Grinstead and Aylesbury. He was later created Earl of Dorset in 1604. That creation became extinct in 1843. It was next created in 1864 for Elizabeth Sackville-West, Countess De La Warr, the sister of the 4th Duke (and 10th Earl) of Dorset, wife of the 5th Earl De La Warr, with special remainder intended to keep it separate from the earldom. Lady De La Warr was thus succeeded in the barony by her second son. When he also succeeded his brother as 7th Earl De La Warr, the Buckhurst title would have passed immediately to the next brother (Mortimer, later created Baron Sackville), but the House of Lords found such "shifting remainders" invalid (''Buckhurst Peerage Case'') and the titles became inseparable. The Great Recession was a period of marked general decline, i.e. a recession, observed in national economies globally that occurred from late 2007 into 2009. The Thoroughbred is a horse breed best known for its use in horse racing. Although the word ''thoroughbred'' is sometimes used to refer to any breed of purebred horse, it technically refers only to the Thoroughbred breed. Thoroughbreds are considered " hot-blooded" horses that are known for their agility, speed, and spirit. Xenia Sackville, Lady Buckhurst (née Countess Xenia Nikolaievna Tolstoy-Miloslavsky; born 1980) is a British jewellery designer. Biography Lady Buckhurst was born Countess Xenia Nikolaievna Tolstoy-Miloslavsky in 1980 in Yeovil to Nikolai Tolstoy, Count Nikolai Tolstoy and Georgia Brown. Her father is a former prospective parliamentary candidate for the UK Independence Party, Vice President of the Royal Stuart Society, and nominal head of the Tolstoy family. She was educated at Headington School, an all-girls boarding school in Headington, and at Downe House School, an all-girls boarding school in Cold Ash. Poohsticks is a game first mentioned in ''The House at Pooh Corner'', a Winnie-the-Pooh book by A. A. Milne. It is a simple game which may be played on any bridge over running water; each player drops a stick on the upstream side of a bridge and the one whose stick first appears on the downstream side is the winner.
