William S. Kalema
William Samson Kalema, is a Ugandan chemical engineer, business consultant and entrepreneur, who serves as the managing partner of BDO East Africa, "a professional firm that offers audit, accounting, tax and business advisory services to private and public sector clients", in the countries of the East African Community and Ethiopia. Background and education Kalema was born at Mulago, in Kampala, Uganda's capital city. After attending primary school locally, he was admitted to Kings College Budo, where he completed his middle and high school education. He obtained his High School Diploma from Budo. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree, both in chemical engineering and both awarded by the University of Cambridge, in the United Kingdom. Mulago is a hill in north-central Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. The hill rises above sea level. The name also applies to the neighborhoods that sit on this hill. Brandt Report
The Brandt Report is the report written by the Independent Commission, first chaired by Willy Brandt in 1980. The Independent Commission for International Developmental Issues was established in 1977 with the aim to review international development issues and the former German Chancellor was nominated as Head by Robert McNamara, then the World Bank President. The result of this report provided an understanding of drastic differences in the economic development for both the East and West of the world. Thesis The Brandt Report suggests primarily that a great chasm in standard of living exists along the North-South divide and there should therefore be a large transfer of resources from developed to developing countries.
