Will Ryan
William Frank Ryan (May 21, 1949 – November 19, 2021) was an American voice actor, musician and singer. He provided the voice of Petrie in the 1988 animated film ''The Land Before Time''. He was also known for his voice work as Eugene Meltsner in the Christian radio drama ''Adventures in Odyssey'' and Grubby in ''The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin''. Life and career Ryan was born on May 21, 1949 and grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. He became established by singing about the American West. In summer 1966, Ryan's earlier band, Wead, played a gig in Wellington, Ohio. In late 1970s, he teamed up with Phil Baron as Willio and Phillio. They had regular gigs on television, radio and comedy clubs and universities throughout the U.S.. They later paired up again voicing characters of best friends Teddy Ruxpin (Baron) and Grubby the Octopede (Ryan) in the Teddy Ruxpin book and tape series as well as the 1986–87 television show ''The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin''. William Ryan (sailor)
William Ryan (born 23 December 1988) is an Australian sailor and an Olympic champion in the Men's 470 class with Mathew Belcher. Ryan represented Australia at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He and teammate Mathew Belcher won the silver medal in the 470 class. Ryan and Belcher returned for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, where they won the gold medal in the 470 class. Ryan is a 5 time 470 world champion together with Mathew Belcher. Ryan's sister is Jaime Ryan who competed at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics with him. She sailed in the Women’s 49er FX event. William Ryan (psychologist)
William J. Ryan, Jr. (c. 1924 – June 7, 2002) was a psychologist and author best known for his criticism of "blaming the victim" first published in his 1971 book of the same title. Ryan's work is considered a major structuralist rebuttal to the Moynihan Report. Moynihan's report had placed most of the blame for African-American poverty rates on the rise of single-parent households rather than on racism and discrimination, while Ryan's response was that Moynihan was blaming victims for their victimhood. Ryan spent the majority of his career at Boston College. Life and career Ryan was raised in Everett, Massachusetts. After joining the Army Air Corps during WWII, he received a PhD from Boston University in 1958. William Ryan (21 September 1921 – 2 January 1994) was an Irish Fianna Fáil politician from County Tipperary. He was a senator from 1961 to 1989. William Ryan (Canadian Politician)
William Michael Ryan (22 November 1887 – 4 January 1938) was a Liberal party member of the House of Commons of Canada. He was born in Saint John, New Brunswick and became a barrister and journalist. Ryan attended University of St. Joseph's College where he earned a Master of Arts degree, then King College Law School where he earned a Bachelor of Civil Law. He became a journalist for New Brunswick newspaper the ''Telegraph-Journal'' and '' Regina Leader''. He was first elected to Parliament at the St. John—Albert riding in the 1935 general election after unsuccessful campaigns there in 1926 and 1930. William Francis Ryan III (born July 8, 1978) is an American basketball coach who is the former head coach of the Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team. Early life and education Ryan is a native of Platteville, Wisconsin. He began his college basketball career at Wisconsin–Platteville. He helped the team win two Division III championships in 1998 and 1999. Ryan transferred to Milwaukee and played his senior season under Bruce Pearl. William Ryan (March 8, 1840February 18, 1925) was an American banker and businessman who served one term as a U.S. Representative from New York from 1893 1895. Biography Born in County Tipperary in Ireland (then a part of the U.K.) on March 8, 1840, Ryan immigrated to the United States with his parents, who settled in Stanwich (now Greenwich, Connecticut) in 1844. He attended the local schools, worked on farms near Greenwich and taught school.
