William R. Sapp
William Robinson Sapp (March 4, 1804 – January 3, 1875) was an American lawyer and politician who served two terms as a U.S. Representative from Ohio from 1853 to 1857. He is the uncle of U.S. Representative William F. Sapp of Iowa. Biography Born at Cadiz, Ohio, Sapp moved to Knox County, Ohio, where he attended the public schools. He engaged in the mercantile business in Danville. He studied law. He was admitted to the bar in 1833 and commenced practice at Millersburg, Ohio. He served as prosecuting attorney of Holmes County, Ohio. Presidential elector in 1844 for Clay/ Frelinghuysen. Taylor 1899 : 255 He moved to Mount Vernon, Ohio, in 1846. Theodore Frelinghuysen
Theodore Frelinghuysen (March 28, 1787April 12, 1862) was an American politician who represented New Jersey in the United States Senate. He was the Whig vice presidential nominee in the election of 1844, running on a ticket with Henry Clay. Born in Somerset County, New Jersey, Frelinghuysen established a legal practice in Newark, New Jersey after graduating from the College of New Jersey. He was the son of Senator Frederick Frelinghuysen and the adoptive father of Secretary of State Frederick Theodore Frelinghuysen. He served as the New Jersey Attorney General from 1817 to 1829 and as a United States Senator from 1829 to 1835. In the Senate, Frelinghuysen strongly opposed President Andrew Jackson's policy of Indian removal. After leaving the Senate, he served as the Mayor of Newark from 1837 to 1838. Ohio's 15th Congressional District
The 15th congressional district of Ohio currently represented by Republican Mike Carey. It was represented by Republican Steve Stivers from 2011 until May 16, 2021, when he resigned to become president and CEO of the Ohio Chamber of Commerce. The district includes the southern portions of Columbus as well as communities west and south of the city. It also includes the college towns of Athens and Wilmington. From 2003 to 2013 Union County and Madison County were entirely within the district's boundaries as is approximately half of Franklin County. The 15th district included the cities of Upper Arlington, Hilliard, Grove City, Grandview Heights, Plain City, London, and Wilmington, as well as the downtown and western portions of Columbus.
