William Pugsley
William Pugsley (September 27, 1850 – March 3, 1925) was a politician and lawyer in New Brunswick, Canada. Biography He was born in Sussex, New Brunswick, the son of William Pugsley, of United Empire Loyalist descent, and Frances Jane Hayward. He was educated at the University of New Brunswick. He studied mathematics, classics, and English and was awarded many scholarships. In his junior year he was the gold medallist of his class. He went on to study law, was admitted to the bar in 1872 and set up practice in Saint John. The University of New Brunswick awarded him a BCL in 1879 and would confer honorary degrees of DCL in 1884 and LL.D in 1918. Pugsley was created a QC on 4 February 1891. Pugsley, a Liberal, served as Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, Solicitor-General and Attorney-General in various Liberal governments before becoming the 11th premier of New Brunswick in 1907. John Waterhouse Daniel
John Waterhouse Daniel (January 27, 1845 – January 11, 1933) was a Canadian physician and Conservative politician. Daniel enlisted in the American Civil War and served as a surgeon with the 47th Regiment Kentucky Volunteer Mounted Infantry a Union Regiment from October 1863 to December 1864. Daniel served as an assistant surgeon in the United States Army from 1865 to 1871. After a three-year term as an Alderman in Saint John, New Brunswick, he was elected Mayor, a post he held from 1900 to 1902. Elected to the House of Commons four times, Daniel represented Saint John federally from 1904 to 1911. Less than a month after his final election in 1911, Daniel resigned, triggering a by-election which John Douglas Hazen won by acclamation. George William Fowler
George William Fowler (February 24, 1859 – September 2, 1924) was a lawyer and political figure in New Brunswick, Canada. He represented King's County in the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick from 1895 to 1899 and King's then King's and Albert in the House of Commons of Canada from 1900 to 1908 and 1911 to 1917 as a Conservative member. Fowler went on to represent Kings and Albert division in the Senate of Canada from 1917 to 1924. He was born in Hammond Vale, New Brunswick and was educated in Saint John, at Dalhousie University and at Boston University. Fowler was admitted to the New Brunswick bar in 1884.
