William J. Healy II
William J. Healy II (born ) is the former Mayor of the City of Canton, Ohio. He was elected to his first term as Mayor of the City of Canton on November 6, 2007, Since his first term crime in the city has gone down 25 percent and the city's unemployment has hit a 30-year low at 5.1% recorded in November 2014. Before becoming Mayor, he was elected in 2004 and 2006 to represent the 52nd District of the Ohio House of Representatives, which includes all of Canton and parts of Stark County. Healy is a 1981 graduate of Canton McKinley Senior High School. Canton, Ohio
Canton () is a city in and the county seat of Stark County, Ohio. It is located approximately south of Cleveland and south of Akron in Northeast Ohio. The city lies on the edge of Ohio's extensive Amish country, particularly in Holmes and Wayne counties to the city's west and southwest. As of the 2020 Census, the population of Canton was 70,872, making Canton eighth among Ohio cities in population. Stephen Slesnick (born December 3, 1977) is a former member of the Ohio House of Representatives who represented the 49th District from 2008 to 2016. A Democrat, Slesnick represented portions of Stark County, including Canton and Massillon. Life and career A lifelong resident of Canton, Ohio, after graduating from Ohio State University.
