William H. Brett
William Howard Brett (December 31, 1893 – April 10, 1989) was Director of the United States Mint from 1954 to 1961. Biography William H. Brett, the son of William Howard Brett, was a native of Cleveland. He served in the United States Army during World War I and was educated at Dartmouth College. After college, he returned to Ohio and went into business. In 1954, President of the United States Dwight D. Eisenhower nominated Brett to be Director of the United States Mint, and Brett held this post from July 1954 to January 1961. He was a contestant on ''What's My Line?'' on November 25, 1956. Brett was also a contestant on the game show "To Tell The Truth" dated August 13, 1957. After retiring from the Mint, Brett served as a financial consultant. The director of the United States Mint is a presidential appointment that requires a Senate confirmation. The incumbent is Ventris Gibson, who became director of the Mint on June 22, 2022, after serving in acting capacity. When the position of the director is vacant, the senior career (non-political) official of the mint serves as the acting director. Eva Adams (September 10, 1908 – August 23, 1991) was the Director of the United States Mint from 1961 to 1969. Biography Eva Bertrand Adams was born in Wonder, Nevada on September 10, 1908, the daughter of Verner Laur Adams and his wife Cora (Varble) Adams. During Eva's childhood, the Adams family moved around the state often as her father was called out to work to set up numerous facilities in mining camps for Wingfield. These facilities included hotels, commissaries, and bars. Due to the frequent re-locating in her early years she learned independence and how to make friends easily, and adapted to be happy wherever she was. Eventually Adams' mother insisted the family settle down in Reno, Nevada. Adams graduated from Reno High School at age 14. Pancreatic cancer arises when cell (biology), cells in the pancreas, a glandular organ behind the stomach, begin to multiply out of control and form a Neoplasm, mass. ''What's My Line?'' is a panel game show that originally ran in the United States on the CBS Television Network from 1950 to 1967, originally in black and white and later in color, with subsequent U.S. revivals. Nellie Tayloe Ross
Nellie Davis Tayloe Ross (November 29, 1876 – December 19, 1977) was an American educator and politician who served as the 14th governor of Wyoming from 1925 to 1927, and as the 28th and first female director of the United States Mint from 1933 to 1953. She was the first woman to serve as governor of a U.S. state, and remains the only woman to have served as governor of Wyoming. Ross was born in St. Joseph, Missouri, to James Wynns Tayloe, a native of Tennessee, and Elizabeth Blair Green, who owned a plantation on the Missouri River. Her family moved to Miltonvale, Kansas in 1884, and she graduated from Miltonvale High School in 1892. She attended a teacher-training college for two years and taught kindergarten for four years.
