William Morse Davidson, (December 5, 1922 – March 13, 2009) was an American businessman. He was President, Chairman and CEO of Guardian Industries, one of the world's largest manufacturers of architectural and automotive glass. He was also owner of several North American professional sports teams and a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The chairman of Palace Sports and Entertainment, Davidson was principal owner of the Detroit Pistons of the National Basketball Association, the Detroit Shock of the Women's National Basketball Association, and the co-owner of the Detroit Fury of the Arena Football League. Davidson also owned the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League and Detroit Vipers of the International Hockey League. Bill Davidson (American Football, Born 1935)
Bill "Bull" Davidson (January 21, 1935 – May 2, 1999) was an American football player and coach and college athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach at Arkansas State University from 1971 to 1978, compiling a record of 51–32–1. Davidson coached his 1975 team to a perfect season during its first year at the NCAA Division I level and was later inducted into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame. Playing career Davidson attended high school at Manila, Arkansas where he played baseball and basketball since Manila did not have a football team at the time. In 1953, he enrolled at Arkansas State and went out for the football team. During his career as a player, he lettered three times as a center and linebacker. William Davidson (1928-2009) was a Canadian director, producer and writer whose career included work with the National Film Board of Canada, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and independent features. He is noted for directing the early English-Canadian movie '' Now That April's Here'' (1958) and producing the TV series ''The Forest Rangers'' (1963–65) and ''Adventures in Rainbow Country'' (1970-71). Career Davidson was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. A graduate of the University of Western Ontario and the Lorne Greene Academy of Radio Arts, Davidson had some early experience in Toronto in theatre, radio and journalism. Prof William Mackay Davidson FRSE RSM (1909-1991) was a Scottish pathologist, haematologist and expert on human chromosomes. He was born in Aberdeenshire on 4 September 1909 and was educated at Aberdeen Grammar School. He studied Medicine at Aberdeen University and graduated MB ChB in 1934. He began lecturing in Pathology at Aberdeen University the following academic year. As a member of the Territorial Army he was immediately called up at the onset of the Second World War in September 1939 and served with the 153rd Field Ambulance attached to the Highland Division. William Davidson (July 20, 1919 - May 8, 2006) was bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Western Kansas, serving as diocesan from 1966 to 1980. Early life and education Davidson was born on July 20, 1919, in Miles City, Montana. He studied at the Montana State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1940. He then taught Vocational Agriculture in Sidney, Montana, until 1943 when he enrolled at Berkeley Divinity School to train for the priesthood. He earned a Bachelor of Sacred Theology in 1946. On June 3, 1942, he married Mary Shoemaker and together had four children. He was awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity by Berkeley Divinity School in 1966, and an honorary Doctor of Laws from the Lexington Theological Seminary in 1978. Bill Davidson (1947–2003) was born on 12 October 1947 in Alberta, Canada, and grew up in an orphanage. Bill was a pioneer in the Canadian rock climbing-scene during the 1970s. After an early free ascent of the North America Wall of El Capitan, Yosemite National Park, in 1970, Bill returned to his native Alberta where he introduced extreme climbing to the Canadian Rockies. Around 1975, Bill suffered a near-fatal fall and left the climbing scene. On a visit to British Columbia, he purchased a green and white double Frontiersman kayak, reduced his belongings to what he could carry with him, and traveled the north coast of British Columbia establishing campsites on many remote islands.
