William Carnie
William Dugald Carnie (29 June 1906 — 14 August 1980) was a Scottish people, Scottish first-class cricketer. Carnie was born at Greenock in June 1906, where he was educated at Greenock Academy. A club cricketer for Greenock, he made a single appearance in first-class cricket for Scotland national cricket team, Scotland against Lancashire County Cricket Club, Lancashire at Old Trafford Cricket Ground, Old Trafford in 1925. Batting twice in the match, he was dismissed in the Scotland first innings duck (cricket), for 0 by Dick Tyldesley, while in their second innings he scored an not out, unbeaten 6 runs. He also bowled nine wicketless over (cricket), overs with his right-arm Fast bowling, fast-medium bowling in Lancashire's only innings of the match, which they won by an innings and 74 runs. Dick Tyldesley
Richard Knowles Tyldesley (11 March 1897 – 17 September 1943) was a Lancashire cricketer who was one of the most important figures in Lancashire breaking Yorkshire's stronghold on the County Championship between 1926 and 1930. He was the youngest of four brothers who all played for Lancashire, but were unrelated to the Worsley family that produced the two famous brothers Johnny and Ernest Tyldesley. Dick first played for Lancashire in 1919 and, with Dean out of form and Cook still in the Army, gained a regular place as a slow bowler. Though he kept a perfect length and could flight the ball extremely well, at this early stage Tyldesley had so little spin that he was not a deadly force on sticky wickets. He also showed promise as a hard-hitting batsman and demonstrated his ability as a close-catching field.
