William Brown (footballer, Born 1874)
William 'Tip' Brown (27 June 1874 – 6 January 1940) was an English amateur footballer and minor counties cricketer. Brown was born at Luton in June 1874 to William Brown and his wife, Martha. By profession a hat manufacturer,“Tip” Brown’s Death loss to cricket in Luton and the county, The Luton News and Bedfordshire Advertiser, pg 7, 1940-01-11, Retrieved 28 July 2019 he played for Luton Town in three spells between 1892 and 1904, making 59 appearances and scoring ten goals during his second-spell. In between his three spells, he played for St Albans City from 1895–1899 and Watford from 1901–1904. Brown also played cricket at minor counties level for Bedfordshire, albeit intermittently, from 1904–1914, making sixteen appearances in the Minor Counties Championship. Luton
Luton () is a town and unitary authority with borough status, in Bedfordshire, England. At the 2011 census, the Luton built-up area subdivision had a population of 211,228 and its built-up area, including the adjacent towns of Dunstable and Houghton Regis, had a population of 258,018. It is the most populous town in the county, from the County Towns of Hertford, from Bedford and from London. The town is situated on the River Lea, about north-north-west of London. The town's foundation dates to the sixth century as a Saxon outpost on the River Lea, from which Luton derives its name. Special Constabulary
The Special Constabulary is the part-time volunteer section of statutory police forces in the United Kingdom and some Crown dependencies. Its officers are known as special constables. Every United Kingdom territorial police force has a special constabulary except the Police Service of Northern Ireland, which has a Reserve constituted on different grounds. However, the Royal Ulster Constabulary (and the previous Royal Irish Constabulary) did have its own Ulster Special Constabulary from 1920 until 1970, when the Reserve was formed. The British Transport Police (a national "special police force") also has a special constabulary. Forwards (also known as attackers) are outfield positions in an association football team who play the furthest up the pitch and are therefore most responsible for scoring goals as well as assisting them.
