Wilhelm Simetsreiter
Wilhelm "Willy" Simetsreiter (16 March 1915 – 17 July 2001), popularly known as ''Schimmy'', was a German footballer. A native of Munich, Simetsreiter played his career along the left wing for his club Bayern Munich. He is usually considered the fastest-ever player at this position in the club's history. He scored three goals against Luxembourg on 4 August at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin.He was also part of Germany's squad at the 1936 Summer Olympics. At the time, the 21-year-old was one of the youngest players in the national side to score a hat-trick. The 1936 Summer Olympics (German: ''Olympische Sommerspiele 1936''), officially known as the Games of the XI Olympiad (German: ''Spiele der XI. Olympiade'') and commonly known as Berlin 1936 or the Nazi Olympics, were an international multi-sport event held from 1 to 16 August 1936 in Berlin, Germany. Berlin won the bid to host the Games over Barcelona at the 29th IOC Session on 26 April 1931. The 1936 Games marked the second and most recent time the International Olympic Committee gathered to vote in a city that was bidding to host those Games. Later rule modifications forbade cities hosting the bid vote from being awarded the games. The Germany national football team played its first international match on 5 April 1908 during the era of the German Empire, losing 5–3 to Switzerland in Basel.
