Wild Pink (band)
Wild Pink is an American indie rock band from the boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens in New York City. History Wild Pink began in 2015, releasing an EP titled ''2 Songs''. In May 2015, Wild Pink joined Texas Is Funny Records and released a new single, as well as announcing a second EP, ''Good Life'', which was released on June 30, 2015. In 2016, the band announced their self-titled debut full-length album, which was released on the Tiny Engines label in February 2017. The band's second album, Yolk in the Fur, was released on July 20, 2018. The band's third album, A Billion Little Lights, was released on February 19, 2021, with Royal Mountain Records. Two months later, in April 2021, the band released the EP 6 Cover Songs, which includes cover to songs by Taylor Swift, Coldplay, Bruce Springsteen, and a cover of the Jeopardy! theme tune. Heartland Rock
Heartland rock is a genre of rock music characterized by a straightforward, often roots musical style, often with a focus on blue-collar workers, and a conviction that rock music has a social or communal purpose beyond just entertainment. The genre is exemplified by singer-songwriters Tom Petty, Bob Seger, Bruce Springsteen and John Mellencamp and country music artists, including Steve Earle and Joe Ely. Anne Frances Murphy (born December 19, 1986) is a Canadian actress. She is best known for her starring role as Alexis Rose in the CBC sitcom ''Schitt's Creek'' (2015–2020). ''A Billion Little Lights'' is the third studio album by American indie rock band Wild Pink. It was released on February 19, 2021 under Royal Mountain Records. Release On October 7, 2020, Wild Pink announced the release of their third studio album, along with the first single "The Shining But Tropical". In a press release, the band's lead vocalist John Ross explained the single: "It was inspired by Carl Sagan’s Cosmos as well as " If I Needed You" by Townes Van Zandt, this song is named for a grim retirement home in Florida. It’s about somebody who was born sheltered realising how large the world is and how unimportant they are." Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock".
