"Wild Heart" is a 1983 song by the American singer/songwriter Stevie Nicks. It was the third single from her second solo album, '' The Wild Heart''. The song was written in 1981 and first performed during a ''Rolling Stone'' photo shoot with her to-be sister-in-law Lori Perry-Nicks. The original demo has the music of Fleetwood Mac's song "Can't Go Back". Background In an interview with Jim Ladd in 1983, Nicks said of the song, "The song the Wild Heart is kind of an abstract song, that was written in Long Island, New York. I mean at the same time that Enchanted was written. A long, long time ago, right at the same time that Bella Donna came out." The song is the opening track on the 1982 album '' Mirage'', the fourth album by the band with Lindsey Buckingham acting as main producer with Richard Dashut and Ken Caillat. Lindsey Adams Buckingham (born October 3, 1949) is an American musician and record producer, best known as the lead guitarist and male lead vocalist of the band Fleetwood Mac from 1975 to 1987 and 1997 to 2018. Christine Anne McVie (; née Perfect; 12 July 1943 – 30 November 2022) was an English musician and songwriter. She was best known as keyboardist and one of the vocalists of the band Fleetwood Mac. McVie was a member of several bands, notably Chicken Shack, in the mid-1960s British Blues scene. She began working with Fleetwood Mac in 1968, initially as a session player, before joining the band in 1970.
