Wilbur Dawbarn is a British cartoonist based in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. He has drawn cartoons for publications such as ''Punch'', ''The Times'', '' Private Eye'', ''The Spectator'', and comic strips, such as The Beano's Billy Whizz (2012-2014), '' Mr. Meecher, the Uncool Teacher'', '' Rocky's Horror Show'' , '' Winker Watson'', ''Robin Hood's Schooldays'', ''The Badd Lads'', and '' Jack Silver'' for the Dandy (2010-2014). High Wycombe, often referred to as Wycombe ( ), is a market town in Buckinghamshire, England. Lying in the valley of the River Wye surrounded by the Chiltern Hills, it is west-northwest of Charing Cross in London, south-southeast of Aylesbury, southeast of Oxford, northeast of Reading and north of Maidenhead. Jack Silver
Jack Howard Silver (23 April 1942 – 22 December 2016) was a set theorist and logician at the University of California, Berkeley. Born in Montana, he earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics at Berkeley in 1966 under Robert Vaught before taking a position at the same institution the following year. He held an Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship from 1970 to 1972. Silver made several contributions to set theory in the areas of large cardinals and the constructible universe ''L''. ''The Phoenix'' is a British weekly story comic for children aged 7– 14, (though it is read by a much wider audience) published by David Fickling Comics Ltd. The comic was launched on 7 January 2012 with a preview issue which was released in late 2011. The comic is often considered a successor to ''The DFC'': both are published by the same people and many of ''The Phoenix'''s creators had worked on ''The DFC''. ''The Badd Lads'' was a comic strip that ran in The Beezer for twenty years starring Fingers, Knuck and Boss who were inept criminals. They were always getting caught, escaping jail and then finding themselves incarcerated again. Fingers was your quintessential spiv with the pencil thin moustache, Knuck was the thick set, soft goon and Boss was the short but smart brains of the outfit. ''The Badd Ladds'' was illustrated by Malcolm Judge from January 1960 through to 1987. Later artists who worked on the strip were John Dallas, Mervyn Johnston and John Geering. Winker Watson
Winker Watson is a British comic strip, created by Eric Roberts, which ran in the British comic book magazine ''The Dandy'' for almost half a century. It debuted in 1961 and only terminated its run in 2007. It was revived in 2012. Concept Winker first appeared in the 1961 Dandy Book (published September 1960), and then appeared in the weekly Dandy on 1 April 1961 in issue Number 1010, and was quickly established as a character of great wit and appeal. Probably modeled on the Greyfriars stories and on Harry Wharton, Winker is a pupil of the Third Form of Greytowers Boarding School, he is known as the "wangler" of the school, constantly playing tricks and avoiding unpleasant school activities, much to the chagrin of his teacher Mr Clarence Creep (known to the boys as ''Creepy'').
