Wiener Stadtliga
The Wiener Stadtliga is an Austrian Landesliga conference, one of the fourth-highest soccer leagues in Austrian football. Mode In the Wiener Stadtliga, a total of 16 football clubs from Vienna and the neighboring province of Lower Austria participate. All clubs are members of the Vienna Football Association. The champion of Wiener Stadtliga rises directly in the third-highest division of Austria, the Austrian Regional League East. In addition to the champion of the Wiener Stadtliga, also the champions of ''Landesliga Burgenland'' and '' 1. Niederösterreichische Landesliga'' are promoted to the Regional League East. Below the Wiener Stadtliga, there are the '' 2. Landesliga'' as fifth-highest division followed by ''Oberliga A'' and ''Oberliga B'' as sixth-highest division, as well as the ''1. Klasse A'' and ''1. Austrian Football Association
The Austrian Football Association (german: Österreichischer Fußball-Bund; ÖFB) is the governing body of football in Austria. It organises the football league, Austrian Bundesliga, the Austrian Cup and the Austria national football team, as well as its female equivalent. It is based in the capital, Vienna. Since 1905, it has been a FIFA member, and since 1954, a UEFA member. Since 7 April 2002, Friedrich Stickler (Dipl. Eng.), the director of executive committee of the Austrian lottery, has been the president of the Austrian Football Association. Supporting him is its president, Kurt Ehrenberger, Frank Stronach, Dr. Gerhard Kapl, and Dr. Leo Windtner. In 2004, it was announced there are 285,000 players (both sexes) in Austria playing for 2,309 teams in the federation, although many more players play informally or for non-recognised teams. Sportklub Slovan Hütteldorfer Athletikclub Wien is an Austrian football club located in Hütteldorf, Vienna, Austria. History Sk Slovan HAC was founded on 11 January 1902 as '' Sportovni Klub Slovan ve Vídni'' - better known as ''SK Slovan'' - by the Czech minority in Vienna. They were promoted to the Austrian First Division in 1923, and built a new stadium - the České srdce (now known as the ''Generali Arena''). The stadium was so large that it caused the club financial problems. The club was relegated in 1928/29 season, but was in the first division again in 1930. They again achieved promotion to the first division in 1949/50 as ''AC Sparta''. In 1960, the club merged with ''ÖMV Olympia 33'' and the club was known as ''SK Slovan-Olympia''. First Vienna FC
First Vienna FC is an Austrian association football club based in the Döbling district of Vienna. Established on 22 August 1894, it is the country's oldest team and has played a notable role in the history of the game there. It is familiarly known to Austrians by the English name ''Vienna''. __TOC__ History In the early 1890s English and Austrian gardeners working for Nathaniel Anselm von Rothschild began to play football on his estates. To avoid further damage to his flowers Nathaniel ceded them a pasture nearby and also granted the team's blue-yellow kits, former jockey costumes of his riding stable. The Manx player William Beale designed the triskelion logo, also in the Rothschild colours blue and yellow, which ''Vienna'' still uses.
