Wide Awake (Joe McElderry Album)
''Wide Awake'' is the debut album of English pop singer Joe McElderry, winner of the sixth series of British talent competition ''The X Factor''. The album was released digitally on 22 October 2010, with a physical release following on 25 October 2010. Two retailer exclusive versions of the album were available, with Asda offering four bonus cards and play.com offering signed copies of the album. Joseph McElderry (; born 16 June 1991) is an English singer and songwriter. He won the sixth series of the ITV show ''The X Factor'' in 2009. His first single " The Climb" reached number one on both the UK Singles Chart and the Irish Singles Charts. He was also the winner of the second series of ''Popstar to Operastar'' in 2011 and the first series of '' The Jump'' in 2014. In 2015, McElderry played the lead role of Joseph in the touring production of the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical ''Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat''. G-A-Y is a long-running gay nightclub, based at Heaven in Charing Cross, London. It started in 1976, and for many years was based at the London Astoria. History G-A-Y started in 1976 in the Sundown club in the basement of the London Astoria (later LA2) as a Monday night event called ''Bang!''. It was started by club promoters Norman Scott, Damien Tony and Jerry Collins, who worked as a DJ under the name Gary London. During the 1980s, ''Bang!'' (which had by then also expanded to Saturday night) and ''Propaganda'' (Thursday night) were run by gay club promoter and DJ Colin Peters (Peter Daubeney), whose brother Jamie continued as promoter for a period following his death.
