''Shayne Ward'' is the debut studio album by English singer Shayne Ward. The release of the album came five months after he won the second series of the British talent show ''The X Factor'', with the recording process taking place between 2005 and 2006. Background and release The album was released on 17 April 2006 and debuted at number one on both the Irish Albums Chart and the UK Albums Chart. Since its release, the album has been certified Platinum in the UK, selling 538,918 copies as of November 2015. Worldwide, the album has sold over 1,120,000 copies. The album spawned the singles "That's My Goal", "No Promises" and " Stand by Me". The album was later re-released on 18 December 2006, with the addition of a bonus DVD. Shayne Thomas Ward (born 16 October 1984) is an English actor and singer. He rose to fame as the winner of The X Factor (British series 2), the second series of ''The X Factor (British TV series), The X Factor''. His debut single, "That's My Goal", was released in the United Kingdom on 21 December 2005 and reached number one on the UK Singles Chart and was that year's List of UK Singles Chart Christmas number ones, Christmas number one. Remee Sigvardt Jackman (né Mikkel Johan Imer Sigvardt; born Frederiksberg, 8 November 1974), better known as Remee, is a Danish producer, composer and songwriter. Career Remee has written more than 60 hits and has sold over 25 million records. He has co-written several songs with Thomas Troelsen. UK Albums Chart
The Official Albums Chart is a list of albums ranked by physical and digital sales and (from March 2015) audio streaming in the United Kingdom. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays). It is broadcast on BBC Radio 1 (top 5) and found on the OCC website as a Top 100 or on UKChartsPlus as a Top 200, with positions continuing until all sales have been tracked in data only available to industry insiders. However, even though number 100 was classed as a hit album (as in the case of The Guinness Book of British Hit Albums) in the 1980s until January 1989, since the compilations were removed this definition was changed to Top 75 with follow-up books such as The Virgin Book of British Hit Albums book only including this data.
