The Tai or Zhuang–Tai languages ( th, ภาษาไท or , transliteration: or ) are a branch of the Kra–Dai language family. The Tai languages include the most widely spoken of the Tai–Kadai languages, including Standard Thai or Siamese, the national language of Thailand; Lao or Laotian, the national language of Laos; Myanmar's Shan language; and Zhuang, a major language in the Southwestern China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, spoken by the Zhuang (壯) people, the largest minority ethnic group in China, with a population of 15.55 million, living mainly in Guangxi, the rest scattered across Yunnan, Guangdong, Guizhou and Hunan provinces. Wiang Nong Long District
Wiang Nong Long ( th, เวียงหนองล่อง, ) is a district (''amphoe'') of Lamphun province, northern Thailand. History The minor district (''king amphoe'') was split off from Pa Sang district becoming effective on 1 April 1995. On 15 May 2007, all 81 minor districts were upgraded to full districts. With publication in the ''Royal Gazette'' on 24 August, the upgrade became official. Geography Neighboring districts are (from the east clockwise) Pa Sang and Ban Hong of Lamphun Province, Chom Thong and Doi Lo of Chiang Mai province. Wiang Haeng District
Wiang Haeng ( th, เวียงแหง, ) is a district (''amphoe'') in the northern part of Chiang Mai province, northern Thailand. History The area of ''tambon'' Wiang was very far from Chiang Dao district center. The government separated ''Tambon'' Mueang Haeng and Piang Luang to create a minor district (''king amphoe'') on 5 May 1981. It was upgraded to a full district on 4 November 1993. Wiang Haeng is believed to be the place where King Naresuan died in 1605 when he and his army went to war with Ava. At present, there are many archaeological sites that are believed to be built to commemorate him. But the place of his death remains a controversy in Thai history. Wiang Kao District
Wiang Kao ( th, เวียงเก่า, ) is a district (''amphoe'') of Khon Kaen province, northeastern Thailand. History The major district (''king amphoe'') was created by splitting three ''tambons'' from Phu Wiang district. Its creation became effective on 1 May 2006. On 15 May 2007, all 81 minor districts were upgraded to full districts. With publication in the ''Royal Gazette'' on 24 August the upgrade became official. Geography Neighboring districts are (from the north clockwise) Nong Na Kham, Phu Wiang, Chum Phae, and Si Chomphu. The district is in the Phu Wiang Mountains, parts of it in Phu Wiang National Park. In 1976 dinosaur fossils were discovered in the district. Since 2001 the discovery sites are accessible in the Phu Wiang Dinosaur Museum. Administration The district is divided into three sub-districts (''tambons''), which are further subdivided into 36 villages (''mubans'').
