Whitletts Victoria F.C.
Whitletts Victoria Football Club are a Scottish football club, historically based in the Whitletts area of Ayr, South Ayrshire. The club currently play in the . Nicknamed ''The Vics'', the club were formed in 1944 and currently play at Dam Park Stadium, near Ayr town centre. The club were forced to leave their traditional home of Voluntary Park in Whitletts, which doubled up as a greyhound racing track, in February 2011, after actions by the leaseholder raised major health and safety concerns, forcing the local council to close the stadium. The stadium has since been demolished and is now the site of a new social housing complex called Victoria Crescent, after the club. Voluntary Park was a football stadium and greyhound racing stadium in the Whitletts area of Ayr, South Ayrshire. Greyhound racing Ayr Greyhound Stadium opened on 6 August 1983 and the first race was won by a greyhound called Dingle. The stadium was also known as Whittlets due to the fact that the track was located in Glenmuir Place off the Whitletts Road. The track circumference was 410 yards and distances were 300, 500 and 700 yards and the principal race was the September Gold Cup. Scottish Junior Football Association
The Scottish Junior Football Association (SJFA) is an affiliated national association of the Scottish Football Association and is the governing body for the junior grade of football in Scotland. The term "junior" refers to the level of football played, not the age of the players. The closest equivalent terminology would be non-League football in England, the difference being that junior football in Scotland was not similarly integrated into its football league system until 2021. Founded in 1886, the SJFA is responsible for disciplinary matters within the grade, certain player registration procedures and organising the annual Scottish Junior Cup. The West of Scotland Football League (WoSFL) is a senior football league based in the west of Scotland. The league sits at levels 6–10 on the Scottish football league system, acting as a feeder to the Lowland Football League. Founded in 2020, it is currently composed of 79 member clubs competing in five divisions. Ayrshire Junior Football League
The Ayrshire Junior Football League, known as the Western Junior League from 1919 until 1968, was a football league competition operated in Ayrshire under the Scottish Junior Football Association which operated until a merger in 2002. The league was formed in the aftermath of World War I, primarily from clubs in the territory which today is North Ayrshire that had participated in smaller leagues such as the ''Irvine & District'' competition.
