Whitefield, India
Whitefield is a neighbourhood of Bangalore in the state of Karnataka, India. Established in the late 1800s as a settlement for the Eurasians and Anglo Indians of Bangalore, Whitefield remained a quaint little settlement at the eastern periphery of Bangalore city till the late 1990s when the local IT boom turned it into a major suburb. It is now a major part of Greater Bangalore. The locality is named after D. S. White, founder of the European and Anglo Indian Association which received 4,000 acres of land from Mysore Maharaja Chamaraja Wodeyar in the 19th century. History In 1882, King Chamaraja Wodeyar IX, the Maharaja of the Mysore State, granted of land to the Eurasian and Anglo-Indian Association for the establishment of agricultural settlements at Whitefield, which lay within his territory. Prestige Shantiniketan is an integrated township in Whitefield, Bengaluru on a total of 105 acres developed by Prestige group, jointly with D. K. Adikesavulu Naidu on a land owned by him. Phoenix Market City (Bangalore)
Phoenix Marketcity is a shopping mall developed by The Phoenix Mills Co. Ltd., located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. It is the largest mall in Bangalore by area and occupying built-up area with of retail space on four floors, which houses 296 stores, a nine-screen PVR Cinemas multiplex and a food court. Accidents and incidents On 28 October 2013, the PVR multiplex along with 54 other shops in the mall were sealed for not having obtained trade licenses from the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike, but later reopened. On 18 May 2016, Phoenix Mall was raided along with other malls in the city, on a tip-off that they were ignoring the ban on plastic bags. International Tech Park commonly called ITPL or ITPB is a tech park located in Whitefield, Bangalore, 18 km from the city centre. It is managed by Ascendas. It includes the 450,000 square foot Park Square Mall, several sporting arenas and the Vivanta by Taj hotel. It is the oldest tech park of Bengaluru and is located in Whitefield cluster. Sathya Sai Baba
Sathya Sai Baba (born Ratnakaram Sathyanarayana Raju; 23 November 192624 April 2011) was an Indian guru. At the age of fourteen he claimed that he was the reincarnation of Shirdi Sai Baba, and left his home to serve his devotees. Sai Baba's believers credited him with miracles such as materialisations of ''vibhuti'' (holy ash) and other small objects such as rings, necklaces and watches, along with reports of miraculous healings, resurrections, clairvoyance, bilocation and was allegedly omnipotent and omniscient. Kolar Gold Fields
Kolar Gold Fields (K.G.F.) is a mining region in K.G.F. taluk (township), Kolar district, Karnataka, India. It is headquartered in Robertsonpet, where employees of Bharat Gold Mines Limited (BGML) and BEML Limited (formerly Bharat Earth Movers Limited) and their families live.
