Johanne Whiley-Morton (born 4 July 1965), better known by her professional name Jo Whiley, is an English radio DJ and television presenter. She was the host of the long-running weekday later weekend '' Jo Whiley Show'' on BBC Radio 1. She currently presents her weekday evening Radio 2 show. Early life and education Whiley was born in Northampton to Martin, an electrician, and Christine, a postmistress. Jordanne Whiley
Jordanne Joyce Whiley MBE (born 11 June 1992) is a British retired wheelchair tennis player. Aged 14, she became Britain's youngest ever national women's singles champion in wheelchair tennis. She has osteogenesis imperfecta as does her father, Keith, who was also a Paralympian and won a bronze medal in 1984 in New York. As well as the 2015 US Open in wheelchair singles, Whiley has won 9 Grand Slam doubles titles, and she & Japanese Yui Kamiji are the fourth team in women's wheelchair doubles (as well as the most recent players) to complete the Calendar Year Grand Slam. Whiley (programming Language)
Whiley is an experimental programming language that combines features from the functional and imperative paradigms, and supports formal specification through function preconditions, postconditions and loop invariants. The language uses flow-sensitive typing also known as "flow typing." The Whiley project began in 2009 in response to the "Verifying Compiler Grand Challenge" put forward by Tony Hoare in 2003. The first public release of Whiley was in June, 2010. Primarily developed by David Pearce, Whiley is an open source project with contributions from a small community. The system has been used for student research projects and in teaching undergraduate classes. It was supported between 2012 and 2014 by the Royal Society of New Zealand's Marsden Fund. Mark Whiley
Mark Whiley (born 1 December 1992) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Greater Western Sydney Giants and Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Originally from Finley Football Club, Finley in the Riverina region of New South Wales, he played for the Murray Bushrangers in the TAC Cup prior to being recruited prior to the 2010 AFL Draft as one of the new GWS club's NSW zone selections. Whiley made his AFL debut in Round 12 of the 2012 AFL season against , as a late replacement for Nick Haynes. In October 2014, he was traded to the Carlton Football Club. Whiley made his debut for Carlton against in Mick Malthouse's record breaking game of most games coached in round 5, 2015. At the conclusion of the 2016 season, he was delisted by Carlton. Richard Kingscote Whiley (born 10 October 1935) is a former English cricketer. Whiley was a right-handed batsman. He was born in Gloucester, Gloucestershire and educated at Malvern College. Whiley made a single first-class appearance for Gloucestershire against the touring Pakistanis at the College Ground, Cheltenham in 1954. In this match he batted twice, scoring 7 not out and 4 not out, in what was a drawn match. This was his only major appearance for Gloucestershire. Four years later, while studying at Brasenose College, Oxford, he made a single first-class appearance for Oxford University Cricket Club against Lancashire at University Parks, Oxford. In the Oxford first-innings, Whiley was dismissed for 4 runs by Roy Tattersall, while in their second-innings he was dismissed for 2 runs by the same bowler, with a low scoring encounter ending in a draw. Matthew Jeffrey Allen Whiley (born 6 May 1980) is a former English cricketer. Whiley was a right-handed batsman who bowled left-arm fast-medium. He played for Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire during a five-year first-class career. The Nottingham native, who has one Youth Test match, made his County Championship debut in the 1998 season, though he mostly appeared for the second team between then and 2001. Whiley started appearing more commonly for Leicestershire in April 2001, the season after their promotion from Division Two of the County Championship. He stayed with the first team until 2003, when Leicestershire were relegated and subsequently had a mass-clearout. Whiley was a tail-ending batsman for both his county sides.
