Wherever We May Roam Tour
Wherever We May Roam (mentioned by band members in interviews as Wherever I May Roam) was a concert tour by the American heavy metal band Metallica in support of their eponymous fifth studio album (commonly known as ''The Black Album''). It began in autumn of 1991. The North American legs ran through summer 1992, followed by the Guns N' Roses/Metallica Stadium Tour, the Wherever We May Roam European leg, and finally the Nowhere Else to Roam tour of smaller markets in North America, Mexico, Asia, Australia, South America, Europe and Israel, ending in the summer of 1993. These initial North American shows took place in arenas, with multiple dates in largely populated areas not uncommon. Metallica
Metallica is an American heavy metal band. The band was formed in 1981 in Los Angeles by vocalist/guitarist James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich, and has been based in San Francisco for most of its career. The band's fast tempos, instrumentals and aggressive musicianship made them one of the founding "big four" bands of thrash metal, alongside Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer. A Year And A Half In The Life Of Metallica
''A Year and a Half in the Life of Metallica'' is a two-part documentary about the process of making the ''Metallica'' album (or "The Black Album") and the following tour. It was produced by Juliana Roberts and directed by Adam Dubin. ''A Year and a Half in the Life of Metallica'' was released as a double VHS pack. Both parts are available on a single DVD, but only in region 1. Part 1 This 90-minute video shows how Metallica and their producer Bob Rock worked their way through making the ''Metallica'' album. It also includes the making of the video for "Enter Sandman" and also a listening party for invited fans to come and listen to the album in full. The video as well highlights tensions between Bob Rock and Metallica. The infamous exchange between Kirk Hammett and Bob Rock during the recording of " The Unforgiven" guitar solo is documented. "Eye of the Beholder" is a song by the American heavy metal band Metallica. It was released on October 30, 1988, as the second single from their fourth studio album, '' ...And Justice for All''. Lyrically, the song concerns imposed limitations on freedom of speech and freedom of expression in general. "Eye of the Beholder" is notable for its chorus section containing time played, not as an ordinary compound quadruple time, but as a syncopated rhythm. The rest of the song is a more conventional rhythm at a slower tempo than that seen on Metallica's previous three albums. The song has not been performed live in its entirety since 1989. The single contained two B-sides, both of which were cover songs: "Breadfan", originally by Budgie, and "The Prince", originally by Diamond Head. It was released on November 23, 1984, as the lead and only commercial single from their album '' Ride the Lightning'' (" Fade to Black" and "For Whom the Bell Tolls", from the same album, were issued as promotional singles). Written from the perspective of the Angel of Death, "Creeping Death" describes the tenth plague of Egypt. Development Kirk Hammett wrote the guitar riff for the bridge section when he was 16 years old.
