is a character created by Japanese video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto. He is the title character of the '' Mario'' franchise and the mascot of Japanese video game company Nintendo. María Luisa Aragón (died February 11, 1974) was a Guatemalan playwright, actress, and radio producer. Aragon was a native of Guatemala City; her date of birth is given in various sources as 1897, 1899, or 1910. She joined the Grupo Artístico Nacional in 1918; in 1945 she ceased stage activity and turned instead to the radio, broadcasting a program entitled ''Radioteatro Infantil, La voz de Guatemala''.
