"What It Is (Block Boy)" is a single by American rapper Doechii, released through Top Dawg Entertainment and Capitol Records on March 17, 2023. The original features fellow Floridian rapper Kodak Black, but a solo version, without Black, was released simultaneously. Six variations of the track were released, which include sped-up and slowed-down versions. Produced by J. White Did It and Brian Kennedy, it is Doechii's first single to enter the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, peaking at number 29. Composition In regard to the song, Doechii said: This song is a fusion of nostalgia and pop vibes. I feel like I'm showing off a side of my vocal range with this one that my fans haven't really seen yet. Linda Jean Barry (born January 2, 1956) is an American cartoonist. Barry is best known for her weekly comic strip ''Ernie Pook's Comeek''. She garnered attention with her 1988 illustrated novel ''The Good Times are Killing Me'', about an interracial friendship between two young girls, which was adapted into a play. Her second illustrated novel, ''Cruddy'', first appeared in 1999. Three years later she published ''One! Hundred! Demons!'', a graphic novel she terms "autobifictionalography". Cordelia's Dad is a band from Northampton, Massachusetts that combines folk and punk rock influences and was instrumental in the creation of the genre later to be dubbed " No Depression". The band formed in 1987 and was active until 1998, when the members relocated to different parts of the country. After releasing an album of older material in 2002 the band reunited in 2007 for their twentieth anniversary. Career Cordelia's Dad was founded in 1987 by Amherst College students Tim Eriksen (bass, vocals), Peter Irvine (drums), Tom King (guitar).
