Joseph Lewis Thomas (born July 5, 1972), known mononymously as Joe, is an American R&B singer-songwriter and record producer. Born and raised in Ashburn, Georgia, he later relocated to Atlanta and signed a record deal with Polygram Records in 1992. He rose to prominence after releasing his debut album ''Everything'' the following year. He followed it with a series of successful albums under Jive Records, including '' All That I Am'' (1997), the international bestseller ''My Name Is Joe'' (2000) as well as the multi-certified albums '' Better Days'' (2001) and '' And Then...'' ''Better Days'' is the fourth studio album by American R&B singer Joe. It was released by Jive Records on December 11, 2001, in the United States. The album reached number 32 on the US ''Billboard'' 200 and number four on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. It spawned three singles, including " Lets Stay Home Tonight", which reached number 18 on the US R&B chart; "What If a Woman", which reached number 13 on the US R&B chart, and "Isn't This the World". Jive Records was an American independent record label founded by Clive Calder in 1981 as a subsidiary to the Zomba Group. In the US, the label had offices in New York City and Chicago. Jive was best known for its successes with hip hop, R&B, and dance acts in the 1980s and 1990s, along with teen pop and boy bands during the late 1990s and early 2000s.
