Weststar Aviation Services Sdn Bhd (doing business as Weststar Aviation Services) is a non-scheduled airline company based in Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport. It is a subsidiary of Weststar Group. History It was established in April 2003 upon the approval of the Air Operation Certificate (AOC) by the Malaysian Department of Civil Aviation (DCA). Its primary fleet consists of Eurocopter EC 120 Colibri, EC 135 Ecureuil, AS365 Dauphin and AgustaWestland AW139. In 2018 they acquired 3 AgustaWestland AW189 that transports mostly Petronas and Shell personals in Miri, Sarawak. Weststar offered Petronas to operate the AW189’s at a cost similar to operating an AW139 and is currently the cheapest operator of AW189’s in the region. Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport ( ms, Lapangan Terbang Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah), (formerly Subang International Airport/Kuala Lumpur International Airport), often called Subang Airport or Subang Skypark, is an airport located in Subang, Petaling District, Selangor, Malaysia. Subang International Airport served as Kuala Lumpur's main airport from 1965 to 1998, before the Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Sepang was opened. Although plans existed to convert the airport into a low-cost carrier base, the change was opposed by Subang Jaya residents. The airport was repurposed to serve general aviation as well as turboprop domestic and international flights. The Eurocopter (now Airbus Helicopters) EC120 Colibri ("hummingbird") is a five-seat, single-engine, light utility helicopter. The Eurocopter EC135 (now Airbus Helicopters H135) is a twin-engine civil light utility helicopter produced by Airbus Helicopters (formerly known as Eurocopter). It is capable of flight under instrument flight rules (IFR) and is outfitted with a digital automatic flight control system (AFCS). First flying on 15 February 1994, it entered service in 1996 and 1,400 have been delivered up to September 2020 to 300 operators in 60 countries, accumulating over 5 million flight hours. The AgustaWestland AW189 is a twin-engined, super-medium-lift helicopter manufactured by Leonardo S.p.A. It is derived from the AW149, and shares similarities with the AW139 and AW169.
