Clayton South is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 20 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Kingston local government area. Clayton South recorded a population of 13,381 at the . The suburb sometimes goes by the name Westall, due to the name of the main road and the railway station that serve the area. Westall is, however, ''not'' an official name, and all post addressed to the area is addressed to Clayton South. The City of Oakleigh was a local government area about southeast of Melbourne, the state capital of Victoria, Australia. The city covered an area of , and existed from 1891 until 1994. The Westall UFO was a reported UFO sighting in Australia that occurred on 6 April 1966 in Melbourne, Victoria. Reports At approximately 11:00 am on Wednesday, 6 April 1966, students and a teacher from Westall High School, now Westall Secondary College, reported seeing a flying object, described as a grey (or silvery-green) saucer-shaped craft with a slight purple hue and about twice the size of a family car. Westall railway station is located on the Pakenham and Cranbourne lines in Victoria, Australia. It serves the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of Clayton South, and opened on 6 February 1951. History Opening on 6 February 1951, Westall station originally comprised two workers-only platforms for staff at the adjacent Martin & King railway coach-building factory. On 1 June 1959, the station became available to the general public, and all services began stopping there. The station, like the locality itself, gets its name from an early market garden proprietor who lived in the area.
