West Virginia Route 618
West Virginia Route 618 is an east–west state highway located almost entirely in Parkersburg, West Virginia, Parkersburg, West Virginia. The route follows the former path of U.S. Route 50 (West Virginia), U.S. Route 50 through downtown Parkersburg. It was created when US 50 was realigned onto a bypass of Parkersburg constructed as part of an upgrade of Corridor D. The designation is meant as a continuation of Ohio's Ohio State Route 618, State Route 618, though that route turns North at the Parkersburg-Belpre Bridge before it would actually meet West Virginia Route 618. The western terminus of WV 618 is at the Ohio state line on the Parkersburg-Belpre Bridge. The eastern terminus is at an interchange with US 50 just east of Parkersburg. Microsoft MapPoint is a discontinued software program and service created by Microsoft that allows users to view, edit and integrate maps. The software and technology are designed to facilitate the geographical visualization and analysis of either included data or custom data. Numerous acquisitions (Vexcel, Vicinity Corporation, GeoTango, etc.) have supplemented both data and feature integration. MapPoint is intended for business users but competes in the low-end geographic information system ("GIS") market. It includes all of the functionality of the most recent version of Streets and Trips, the consumer mapping software, at the time of development, as well as integration with Microsoft Office, data mapping from various sources including Microsoft Excel and a Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) interface allowing automation of the MapPoint environment.
