The Women's Flat Track Derby Association's (WFTDA) West Region was formed in 2006. In 2009, teams from the eastern part of the region were moved into the North Central and South Central Regions. From 2008, the WFTDA changed from having just two regional tournaments (East and West), to five, made up of teams from four regions: East, North Central, South Central and West. For 2011, the region was reduced in size, with teams in New Mexico moving to the South Central Region. Castle Rock 'n' Rollers is a women's flat track roller derby league based in Castle Rock, Colorado. Founded in 2008, the league consists of a single team which competes against teams from other leagues. Castle Rock is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). The league played its first home bout in June 2009, against the Naughty Pines Derby Dames. and took their first win against the same opposition, in September. Denver Roller Derby (DRD) is a flat-track roller derby league based in Denver, Colorado. The league was founded in December 2005. Denver Roller Derby is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), joining in December 2007 as Denver Roller Dolls. The Choice City Rebels was a roller derby league based in Fort Collins, Colorado. Founded in 2009, the league last fielded a single team which competed against teams from other leagues. The league was founded in October 2009 by ten established skaters, who had previously played for FoCo Girls Gone Derby, and it held its first bout in December, against the Slaughterhouse Derby Girls. Cherry City Roller Derby
Cherry City Roller Derby (CCRD) is a flat track roller derby league based in Salem, Oregon and a 501c Non-Profit Organization. Cherry City is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). History and structure Cherry City began as Cherry City Derby Girls in 2009, with the prompting of Ryan Rogers of Culture Shock of Salem. There were no tryouts initially and over 100 women signed up for the league. The first official practice occurred on April 6, 2009. The league's formal end-of-season event, the Black and Red Ball, commemorates this event in April each year. By March 2010, Cherry City was attracting more than 3,000 fans to its bouts, while the team's skaters ranged from 18 to over 50 years old.
