West Indian Cricket Team In India In 2013–14
The West Indies cricket team toured India, playing two Test matches and a three-match One Day International series against the Indian national team from 31 October to 27 November 2013. The series, not initially in the ICC Future Tours Programme, was hastily arranged by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) following the postponement of India's scheduled tour to South Africa to December, with that series itself reduced to 2 Tests and 3 ODIs due to a spat between the BCCI and Cricket South Africa. The series was notable for Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar's retirement from all forms of the game at the conclusion of the second Test, which was his 200th overall. Darren Sammy
Daren Julius Garvey Sammy (born 20 December 1983) is a Saint Lucian cricketer who played international cricket for the West Indies. He is a two time T20 World Cup winning captain. On making his One-Day International (ODI) debut against Bangladesh in 2004, Sammy became the first person from the island of St Lucia to play international cricket. Three years later he made his Test debut against England, taking 7/66 which were the best bowling figures for a West Indian in his first Test since Alf Valentine in 1950. Sammy was appointed West Indies captain in October 2010. He scored his maiden Test century in May 2012 during a match against England. Sammy is the only captain to have won World T20 twice. The Indian cricket team toured South Africa from 5 to 30 December 2013, playing three One Day Internationals (ODI) and the two Test matches against the hosts. The Indian team was led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni while South Africa was captained by AB de Villiers (for ODIs) and Graeme Smith (for Tests). The tour began with the three-match ODI series, with South Africa winning the series 2–0. Wicket-keeper
The wicket-keeper in the sport of cricket is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket or stumps being watchful of the batsman and ready to take a catch, stump the batsman out and run out a batsman when occasion arises. Denesh Ramdin
Denesh Ramdin (born 13 March 1985) is a Trinidadian cricketer who played internationally for the West Indies. He is a right-handed wicketkeeper-batsman. He retired from all forms of international cricket in July 2022. In July 2005, Ramdin made both his Test and One Day International debut against Sri Lanka and India respectively. He holds the record for the highest score by a West Indies wicket-keeper in ODIs with 169 as well as the second-highest in Tests with 166. In 2010, Ramdin was dropped from the team and his central contract was not renewed. He was recalled to the ODI team in 2011 and the Test team in 2012. Kieran Omar Akeem Powell (born 6 March 1990) is a Nevisian sportsman who has played international cricket for the West Indies. He is a left-handed opening batsman. Having represented the West Indies under-19s at the 2008 Under-19 World Cup, Powell made his first-class debut for the Leeward Islands in March 2008. He was selected to make his One Day International (ODI) debut for the West Indies in 2009, against Bangladesh, and made his Test debut just under two years later, against India. Veerasammy Permaul (born 11 August 1989) is a Guyanese professional cricketer. He's featured as a left arm orthodox spinner for both Guyana and the West Indies cricket team. Shannon Terry Gabriel (born 28 April 1988) is a Trinidadian cricketer who internationally plays cricket for West Indies cricket team. He is a fast bowler. He became a key member of the Trinidad and Tobago's attack quickly after his debut in 2010. Kirk Anton Edwards (born 3 November 1984) is a West Indies former international cricketer. He played as a right-handed batsman, domestically mainly for Barbados. Narsingh Deonarine (born 16 August 1983) is a Guyanese cricketer, who has played for the West Indies. Domestic and franchise career He is a left-handed batsman who bowls a right-arm off break. Tino la Bertram Best (born 26 August 1981) is a West Indian cricketer. Since 2002, he has played domestic cricket for his native Barbados, with a season at English club Yorkshire in 2010.
