West Coast Avengers
The West Coast Avengers is a fictional group of superheroes appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The team first appeared in ''The West Coast Avengers'' #1 (Sept. 1984), created by Roger Stern and Bob Hall. It was the first spin-off publication for the Avengers. Publication history The West Coast Avengers first appear in a four-issue limited series published from September to December 1984. The series was written by Roger Stern and drawn by Bob Hall and Brett Breeding. This was followed by a 102-issue series of the same name that ran from October 1985 to January 1994. The series was initially written by Steve Englehart and drawn by Al Milgrom and Joe Sinnott. It was the first spin-off series for the Avengers. From issue #42 to 57, the title was written and illustrated by John Byrne. Al Milgrom
Allen L. Milgrom (born March 6, 1950) is an American comic book writer, penciller, inker and editor, primarily for Marvel Comics. He is known for his 10-year run as editor of ''Marvel Fanfare''; his long involvement as writer, penciler, and inker on ''The Spectacular Spider-Man, Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man''; his four-year tenure as ''West Coast Avengers'' penciller; and his long stint as the inker of ''X-Factor (comics), X-Factor''. He often inks Jim Starlin's work. Milgrom is the co-creator of DC superhero Firestorm (character), Firestorm.
