West Australian Country Football League
The Australian Country Football League (WACFL) is the governing body for the sport of Australian rules football in the non-metropolitan areas of Western Australia. The organisation was founded in 1973 as the Western Australian National Country Football League (WANCFL), its name to the current in 1979. The WACFL is also responsible for organising the Landmark Country Football Championships, contested between the various regional sides. The Australian Country Football Championships were hosted by Bunbury in 2004. The Central Wheatbelt Football League is an Australian rules football competition in the Wheatbelt (Western Australia), Wheatbelt region of Western Australia. History The Central Wheatbelt Football League (CWFL) was formed at the end of the 1967 football season following a merger of the Dampier Football Association and the Koorda-Wyalkatchem Football Association. The ''Dampier Football Association (1913–1967)'' had clubs that included Bencubbin, Kununoppin, Mukinbudin. Nungarin, Trayning, & Yelbeni. Newman National Football League
The Newman National Football League, named after the mining centre of Newman, Western Australia, is an Australian rules football competition based in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. History The league was founded in 1972 with three clubs, Centrals, Saints and Tigers. in 1975 a fourth club Pioneers joined the competition. The four teams make the league unique in Australia as they believe they are the only league to have all four club rooms around the one oval. The Capricorn Oval is on Fortescue Avenue Newman. North Midlands Football League
The North Midlands Football League is an Australian rules football leagues based in Mid West (Western Australia). The league was formed in 1921 as the North Midlands Football Association. The five founding teams were Three Springs, Carnamah, Arrino, Mingenew (not the current Mingenew club) and Yandanooka. In 1926, Mingenew and Yandanooka merged to form Mingenew-Yandanooka. That club only lasted two seasons, and folded at the end of the 1927 season. The league remained a four-club competition when Coorow joined in 1928. The league then remained unchanged until it went into recess in 1941 due to World War II. The League recommenced in 1946 with the same four clubs, and continued until the end of the 1959 season. In 1960, the League was joined by two new clubs, Mingenew Rovers and Mingenew Wanderers, who were both playing in the Irwin Districts Football League until it disbanded at the end of the 1959 season. The Hills Football Association is an Australian rules football leagues based in Western Australia. The association was formed in 1946. The inaugural clubs were chidlow, Western Australia, Chidlow, Mundaring, Western Australia, Mundaring, Parkerville, Western Australia, Parkerville, Sawyers Valley, Western Australia, Sawyers Valley and Mt Helena, Western Australia, Mt Helena. Goldfields Football League
The Goldfields Football League is an Australian rules football league based in the Goldfields region of Western Australia. Founded in 1896 as Hannans District Football Association, the league enjoyed a seat and full voting rights on the Australian National Football Council until 1919. The first clubs to play Australian football were formed within the region, and the league helped popularise the sport in the region, helping to establish the sport and supplant Rugby in popularity. The GFL was known as the Goldfields Football Association (GFA) from 1901–07 and 1920–25, and as the Goldfields National Football League (GNFL) from 1926–87. Gascoyne Football Association
The Gascoyne Football Association is an Australian rules football competition based in Carnarvon, Western Australia, Carnarvon and Exmouth, Western Australia, Exmouth in Western Australia. Fortescue National Football League
The Fortescue National Football League, named after the Fortescue River, is an Australian rules football competition based in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. It features three clubs (Panthers, Tigers, Townsite Eagles) from the town of Tom Price and one (Saints) from Paraburdoo. It was founded in 1970.
