Wentworth (TV Series)
''Wentworth'' is an Australian television drama series. It was first broadcast on SoHo on 1 May 2013 and it concluded on Fox Showcase with its 100th episode on 26 October 2021. The series serves as a contemporary reimagining of ''Prisoner'', which ran on Network Ten from 1979 to 1986. Lara Radulovich and David Hannam developed ''Wentworth'' from Reg Watson's original concept. The series is set in the modern day and initially focuses on Bea Smith's ( Danielle Cormack) early days in prison and her subsequent rise to the top of the prison's hierarchy. From the fifth season onward, the series shifted to emphasize more of an ensemble format. For the first three seasons, ''Wentworth'' was filmed on purpose-built sets in the suburbs of Clayton, Victoria. Starting with the fourth season, production moved to Newport, Victoria. Fox Showcase (formerly known as Showcase) is an Australian premium drama cable and satellite television channel. It was initially part of the Showtime Australia channels and was managed by PMP chief executive officer Peter Rose. SoHo was an Australian pay television channel. Originally launched as FX in 1995 and oriented towards classic programming, it was rebranded as W. and shifted its focus to women's programming on 1 November 2003. Later, on 20 August 2012, it was again rebranded as SoHo and shifted its focus to drama television series. The channel closed down on 4 October 2016, and was replaced by Binge. Richard Pleasance
Richard Arnold Pleasance is an Australian rock musician and producer. He was a founding member of Boom Crash Opera on guitar, bass guitar, vocals and as a songwriter in 1985; they released three albums before Pleasance left in 1992. Zoe Terakes (born March 22, 2000) is an Australian actor who most notably played Reb Keane in ''Wentworth.'' Life and career Terakes is non-binary and trans masculine, and came out to the acting industry at age 19. Terakes attended SCEGGS Darlinghurst for high school. They completed their HSC whilst appearing on stage in ''A View from the Bridge'', a theatre production in Sydney from director Iain Sinclair.
