Wellacre Academy (simply referred to as Wellacre and officially Wellacre Technology Academy, formerly Wellacre Technology College and Urmston Wellacre County Secondary School) is an 11–16 Single-sex education, boys, secondary school with Academy (English school), academy status in Flixton, Greater Manchester, England. It was formerly a foundation school that was established in 1955 and adopted its present name after becoming an academy in 2011. The school had a sixth form that was established in 2009, but closed in 2017 due to a small number of students enrolling, resulting in it not being financially sustainable. Flixton, Greater Manchester
Flixton is a suburb and electoral ward in the Metropolitan Borough of Trafford, Greater Manchester, England. The population of the ward at the 2011 census was 10,786. It lies six miles (9.7 km) southwest of Manchester city centre, in the historic county of Lancashire. Skybolt is a single stage space rocket designed and assembled by Starchaser Industries. It functions effectively as a scale model of Starchaser Industries' proposed Space Tourism Vehicle, "Thunderstar".
