Colin Welford
Colin Welford (born 1967 in Manchester, England) is an English composer for stage and screen, conductor, orchestrator and music director based in the United States. He holds a Master's degree in Music from Oxford University, England (Organ Scholar, Brasenose College), and pursued graduate study at The Royal College of Music, London (orchestral conducting, composition), University of Miami (orchestral conducting, composition) and at Columbia College Chicago (Master's program in film composition). In 1991 he was invited by John de Lancie (oboist), former principal oboist of the Philadelphia Orchestra, to join the faculty at the recently formed New World School of the Arts in Miami (Florida), and there he led the Orchestral Department and taught orchestration for the following three years. James Welford
James William Welford (27 March 1869 – 17 January 1945) was an English cricketer and footballer. He won both the Football League (three times) and FA Cup with Aston Villa, and the Scottish Football League and Scottish Cup with Celtic, all in a seven-year period in the 1890s. In cricket, Welford was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm fast. Football Welford was born in Barnard Castle, County Durham; his playing position was as a full-back. He had played locally for Stockton and Bishop Auckland before joining Birmingham St George's, from where he joined Aston Villa in 1893. He played there until 1897, making a total of 83 appearances in both League and Cup, scoring one goal. While at Villa (where his teammates included Bob Chatt, also from Barnard Castle), he won the FA Cup in 1895 and claimed three Football League titles in 1893–94, 1895–96 and 1896–97, although by the latter season he was no longer a regular, possibly due to injury – coincidental ...

Nancy Welford
Nancy Welford (May 31, 1904 – September 30, 1991), also known as Christine Welford, was a British-born American actress in the early sound film era. The daughter of actress Ada Loftus and actor Dallas Welford, she was born in London, England and came to the United States when she was six years old. Welford's stage debut came as a member of the ensemble for ''Mimic World''. As early as 1921, she was active in vaudeville. In 1922 she appeared at the Fulton Theatre on Broadway in the musical '' Orange Blossoms'' by Victor Herbert. In 1923, a caption of a photograph in the ''New York Daily News'' described her as the prima donna of a musical comedy and noted, "She has come up from the chorus and come to stay." She next joined the Gallagher and Shean duo in their performances. In 1926, Welford starred in ''Nancy'', a musical for which she was the inspiration. She acted in five films between 1929 and 1933. Rod Welford
Rodney Jon (Rod) Welford (born 30 September 1958) is an Australian former politician from Queensland. He served as a Labor Party Member of Parliament in the Legislative Assembly of Queensland from 1989 to 2009. Early life Welford was born in Brisbane. He was a prominent solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and barrister of the High Court of Australia prior to entering parliament. Walter Welford
Walter Welford (May 21, 1868 – June 28, 1952) was inaugurated as the 20th Governor of North Dakota on February 2, 1935 after Thomas H. Moodie was removed from office after it was determined he was ineligible to hold the office. He served until 1937, having lost the 1936 race to former governor William Langer. Biography Born in the North Yorkshire village of Bellerby on 21 May 1868, Welford moved with his family to Pembina, North Dakota, in 1879. A farmer, he also served as Vice President of the Merchants Bank of Pembina County. He was married to Edith Bachmann and they had one child who died in infancy. Career Welford served as township clerk at Pembina for twenty years. He also served in the North Dakota House of Representatives (1907 to 1911) and Senate (1917 to 1921).
