We Have You Surrounded
__NOTOC__ ''We Have You Surrounded'' is the fourth album by the American rock music group The Dirtbombs. Production Recording of ''We Have You Surrounded'', began in November 2006 as a five song EP. The length of time since the band's last full-length, 2003's ''Dangerous Magical Noise'', led to the decision to finish it as an LP, once again postponing the band's long-planned bubblegum record. Recording resumed in the summer of 2007, and ''We Have You Surrounded'' was released in February 2008. Far from being a bubblegum record, the album's themes are dark, based on Alan Moore's "Leopard Man at C & A'", which is described by Collins as "a fabulous take on urban paranoia". Two cover songs were recorded for ''We Have you Surrounded''. The first being the new wave song "Sherlock Holmes", originally by the band Sparks from the album '' Angst in My Pants'' (1982). Troy Gregory (born November 13, 1966) is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, filmmaker, film composer, solo artist, and member of The Dirtbombs. Since 2018 for his solo Albums he has composed, produced, and performed all instruments by himself. Additionally he creates his own album art and music videos. In 2010 he wrote, directed, edited, scored and acted in the film World War Love. Benjamin Jesse Blackwell (born June 12, 1982) is the creator and director of Cass Records, one of two drummers in the Detroit-based rock band The Dirtbombs, a music writer, and a vinyl record collector. He's a co-founder and minority owner at Third Man Records and the official archivist of The White Stripes. Early life Ben Blackwell was born in Detroit, Michigan, on June 12, 1982, to Maureen Gillis and Morris Blackwell. He is the nephew of Jack White, whose birth name is John Gillis. He attended Wayne State University for three years, with a concentration in journalism, before withdrawing. Fred Cole (musician)
Frederick Lee Cole (August 28, 1948 – November 9, 2017) was an American rock singer and guitarist who played with several bands from the 1960s until his death, most notably The Lollipop Shoppe, Dead Moon, and Pierced Arrows. He was associated mainly with the garage punk genre though he was also influenced by hard rock, blues, country, and folk music. The majority of his recorded output was self-financed and independently released on his own record label. Russell Mael
Russell Craig Mael (born October 5, 1948) is an American singer best known as the lead singer for the band Sparks which he formed in 1971 with his elder brother Ron Mael. Mael is known for his wide vocal range, in particular his far-reaching falsetto. He has a flamboyant and hyperactive stage presence which contrasts sharply with Ron Mael's deadpan scowling. Ronald David Mael (born August 12, 1945) is an American musician, songwriter, composer and record producer. He is the keyboard player and principal songwriter in the band Sparks which he founded with vocalist, occasional songwriter and younger brother Russell Mael in 1971. Mael is known for his quirky and idiosyncratic approach to songwriting, his intricate and rhythmic keyboard playing style and for his deadpan and low key, scowling demeanour onstage often remaining motionless over his keyboard in sharp contrast to Russell's animated and hyperactive frontman antics. Dead Moon
Dead Moon was an American punk rock band active from 1987 to 2006, formed in Portland, Oregon. History Fronted by the singer/guitarist Fred Cole, the band also included the bass guitarist Toody Cole and the drummer Andrew Loomis. Veterans of Portland's independent rock scene, Dead Moon combined dark and lovelorn themes with punk and country music influences into a stripped-down sound. Fred Cole engineered most of the band's recordings and mastered them on a mono recording lathe that was used for The Kingsmen's version of "Louie Louie". The album was released in 1982 by Atlantic Records in both the US and UK, and this was the 6th overall label that the band was signed to in the US, and, for the first time since the mid-1970s, the band would be signed the same label in both the US and UK for 3 consecutive albums. History ''Angst in My Pants'' marked the second studio album that keyboardist Ron Mael and lead vocalist Russell Mael worked with the backing band of guitarist Bob Haag, bassist Leslie Bohem, and drummer David Kendrick.
