We Beat The System
We Beat The System are a five-piece English, alternative rock band from Sunderland. Formed in 2009, the group consists of Daniel Mason (kind of lead singer and 3 keys of the keyboard), Jonathan Gray (guitar), Martin Dagg (guitar), Jon Sandwith (bass guitar) and David Burlace (drums and percussion). The band has been tipped by the BBC as having a "promising future ahead of them" after winning the Best Alternative Act category in the Live and Unsigned 2010 competition at the O2 Arena in London – the United Kingdom's largest national music competition for unsigned bands. The members of ''We Beat The System'' met while attending ''Venerable Bede Church of England School'' in Sunderland and formed the band in October 2009. They have since supported The Automatic, Frankie & The Heartstrings, Chapel Club, ''Flashguns'', Dutch Uncles and ''Wilder''. Sunderland
Sunderland () is a port city in Tyne and Wear, England. It is the City of Sunderland's administrative centre and in the Historic counties of England, historic county of County of Durham, Durham. Chapel Club
Chapel Club were an English indie-synthpop band from London, consisting of singer Lewis Bowman, drummer Rich Mitchell, bassist Liam Arklie and keyboardists/guitarists Michael Hibbert and Alex Parry. The band parted ways with Universal imprint Polydor in March 2012 after ditching their previous indie rock sound, which had previously seen the band described as "moody, majestic and magnificent" for an electronic synth/sample led pop approach. The band's second and final album was released on Ignition Management imprint Ignition Records in 2013. The band announced their split on 17 October 2013 onstage at St Pancras Old Church, London. White Lies are an English post-punk revival band from Ealing, London. Formerly known as Fear of Flying, the core band members are Harry McVeigh (lead vocals, guitar), Charles Cave (bass guitar and backing vocals), and Jack Lawrence-Brown (drums). Editors are an English rock band, formed in 2002 in Birmingham. Previously known as Pilot, The Pride and Snowfield, the band currently consists of Tom Smith (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Russell Leetch (bass guitar, synthesiser, backing vocals), Ed Lay (drums, percussion, backing vocals), Justin Lockey (lead guitar), Elliott Williams (keys, synthesizers, guitars, and backing vocals), and Benjamin John Power (composer and producer). Evolution Festival, UK
Evolution Festival was a music festival held annually across Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead, England, from 2002 until 2013. The festival attracted tens of thousands of attendees every year and usually took place on the Quayside. Evolution Festival was briefly titled Orange Evolution due to a sponsorship deal with the mobile phone company Orange. It has been described as "the biggest festival Tyneside has ever staged". Headline performers at Evolution Festival included Dizzee Rascal, The Wombats, Paolo Nutini and Maxïmo Park.
