Wayne DeAngelo
Wayne P. DeAngelo (born November 5, 1965) is an American Democratic Party politician, who has served in the New Jersey General Assembly since January 8, 2008, where he represents the 14th Legislative District. Early life DeAngelo was born in Trenton, New Jersey. He is a fourth-generation Hamilton Township, Mercer County resident of Italian-American descent. He lives in the township with his wife Toni and their two daughters. DeAngelo attended Steinert High School and the Rupert John Trade School. New Jersey General Assembly
The New Jersey General Assembly is the lower house of the New Jersey Legislature. Since the election of 1967 (1968 Session), the Assembly has consisted of 80 members. Two members are elected from each of New Jersey's 40 legislative districts for a term of two years, each representing districts with average populations of 232,225 (2020 figures), with deviation in each district not exceeding 3.21% above and below that average. To be eligible to run, a potential candidate must be at least 21 years of age, and must have lived in their district for at least one year prior to the election, and have lived in the state of New Jersey for two years. They also must be residents of their districts. Membership in the Assembly is considered a part-time job, and many members have employment in addition to their legislative work. The 2009 New Jersey General Assembly elections were held on November 3, 2009, for all 80 seats in the lower house of the New Jersey Legislature. Voters in New Jersey's 40 legislative districts cast 4,204,034 votes. Each voter may cast up to two votes. The Democratic Party won a 47-seat majority while losing the popular vote. A general election was held in the U.S. state of New Jersey on November 3, 2015. Primary elections were held on June 2. The only state positions up in this election cycle were all 80 seats in the New Jersey General Assembly and one Senate special election in the 5th Legislative District. In addition to the State Legislative elections, numerous county offices and freeholders in addition to municipal offices were up for election. There were no statewide ballot questions this year though some counties and municipalities may have had a local question asked. There are 40 legislative districts, representing districts with an average population of 232,225 (2020 figure).
