Water Polo
Water polo is a competitive team sport played in water between two teams of seven players each. The game consists of four quarters in which the teams attempt to score goals by throwing the ball into the opposing team's goal. The team with the most goals at the end of the game wins the match. Each team is made up of six field players and one goalkeeper. Excluding the goalkeeper, players participate in both offensive and defensive roles. It is typically played in an all-deep pool where players cannot touch the bottom. A game consists mainly of the players swimming to move about the pool, treading water (mainly using the eggbeater kick), passing the ball, and shooting at the goal. Teamwork, tactical thinking and awareness are also highly important aspects. Water polo is a highly physical and demanding sport and has frequently been cited as one of the most difficult to play. Dénes Kemény
Dénes Kemény (born 14 June 1954 in Budapest) is a former Hungarian water polo player who was the trainer and president of the Hungary men's national water polo team from 1997 to 2012. During his reign the Hungarian team won at least a medal in 24 of its 29 major tournaments, including three Olympic golds in a row between 2000 and 2008, making him one of the most successful water polo coaches in Olympic history. Kemény graduated in 1978 as a veterinary doctor. In 1990 he received his degree which made him a water polo trainer, and in 1998 a water polo master trainer. As a player, he was a member of the European Junior Champion team in Duisburg in 1973. Stefano Tempesti
Stefano Tempesti (born 9 June 1979) is an Italian water polo goalkeeper. He competed at five consecutive Olympics between 2000 and 2016 and won a silver medal in 2012 and a bronze in 2016. He is the second water polo goalkeeper to compete at five Olympics, after Spaniard Jesús Rollán. Tempesti was the top goalkeeper at the 2008 Olympics, with 83 saves. He was also the top goalkeeper at the 2012 Olympics, with 87 saves. Biography Tempesti started his career in his hometown's Futura Prato, before moving to RN Florentia. He remained there until 2003 when he started playing for his current team, Pro Recco. With Florentia he won a LEN Cup Winners' Cup in 2001, while with Pro Recco he won eleven consecutive national titles and five LEN Euroleagues (2007, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2015). Maurizio Felugo (born 4 March 1981) is an Italian male water polo player. He was a member of the Italy men's national water polo team, playing as a driver. Biography Born at Rapallo, he currently plays for Pro Recco and the Italian water polo national team as a defender. Felugo debuted in the youth team of Chiavari Nuoto, and in 1998 he was acquired by Rari Nantes Savona. During his stay there, he received his first cap with the Italian national team. Moving to Posillipo after five years, he won there the Italian top division title and a LEN Euroleague. He is 1.89m and weighs 82 kg. In 2006 he moved to Pro Recco.
