Watcher (Buffyverse)
In the fictional universe written by the television series ''Buffy the Vampire Slayer'' and ''Angel'', a Watcher is a member of a secret organization of parapsychologists, the Watchers' Council, which seeks to prepare the Slayer to fight demonic forces. A notable example of a Watcher is ''Buffy'' main character Rupert Giles. They are typically modelled after the fictional character Abraham Van Helsing from Bram Stoker's novel ''Dracula''. Description Watchers are devoted to tracking and combating malevolent supernatural entities (particularly vampires), primarily by locating individuals with the talents required to fight such beings and win. The Buffyverse or Slayerverse is a Multimedia franchise, media franchise created by Joss Whedon. The term also refers to the shared fictional universe in which the TV series ''Buffy the Vampire Slayer'' and ''Angel (1999 TV series), Angel'' are set. This term, originally coined by fans of the TV series, has since been used in the titles of published works, and adopted by Joss Whedon, the creator of the fictional universe. "Sanctuary" is episode 19 of season 1 in the television show ''Angel''. "The Gift" is the season 5 finale, and the 100th episode, of the fantasy-horror television series ''Buffy the Vampire Slayer'' (1997-2003). "Never Kill a Boy on the First Date" is the fifth episode of the first season of the television series ''Buffy the Vampire Slayer''. Dracula
''Dracula'' is a novel by Bram Stoker, published in 1897. As an epistolary novel, the narrative is related through letters, diary entries, and newspaper articles. It has no single protagonist, but opens with solicitor Jonathan Harker taking a business trip to stay at the castle of a Transylvanian nobleman, Count Dracula. Harker escapes the castle after discovering that Dracula is a vampire, and the Count moves to England and plagues the seaside town of Whitby. Bram Stoker
Abraham Stoker (8 November 1847 – 20 April 1912) was an Irish author who is celebrated for his 1897 Gothic horror novel '' Dracula''. During his lifetime, he was better known as the personal assistant of actor Sir Henry Irving and business manager of the Lyceum Theatre, which Irving owned. In his early years, Stoker worked as a theatre critic for an Irish newspaper, and wrote stories as well as commentaries.
