Edward Philippe Pierre "Ward" de Ravet (1 June 1924 – 6 March 2013) was a Belgian actor. His wife was Belgian stage and television actress Fanny Winkler. Death Ward de Ravet, as he was universally known, died on 6 March 2013, aged 88. He had been in a nursing home in Zandhoven Zandhoven () is a municipality in the Belgian province of Antwerp. ''Soldier of Orange'' ( nl, Soldaat van Oranje, ) is a 1977 Dutch romance-thriller film directed and co-written by Paul Verhoeven and produced by Rob Houwer, starring Rutger Hauer and Jeroen Krabbé. The film is set around the German occupation of the Netherlands during World War II, and shows how individual students have different roles in the war. The story is based on the autobiographical book ''Soldaat van Oranje'' by Erik Hazelhoff Roelfzema. The film had a budget of ƒ 5,000,000 (€2,300,000), at the time the most expensive Dutch movie ever. ''Het Pleintje'', can be translated as ''The Little Square'', was a Flemish television series produced by the former public broadcasting channel BRT, nowadays VRT. It was aired between 1986 and 1987 and contains 27 episodes. The series were written by Jan Matterne and directed by Juul Claes. Plot The series is set around a (fictional) square somewhere in Belgium, most probably around Brussels, and is about the adventures and struggling of its inhabitants. ''John the Fearless'' ( nl, Jan zonder vrees) is a 1984 animated Belgian film. It is notable for being the first feature-length animated film produced in Flanders in its entirety. It is based on a novel by Constant de Kinder and features voice work by Belgian character actor Jan Decleir. ''Het Beest'' (''The Beast'') is a 1982 Belgian/Dutch film, made by Flemish writer/director Paul Collet and starring Willem Ruis. For Ruis, who was at the height of his career as a showman and presenter on Dutch television, it was his first and last appearance in cinema. The movie was a flop. Willem Ruis, presenter of various quiz shows and a very popular variety program, stars as Harry Melchior.
