Walter Stöhrer
Walter Stöhrer (1937–2000) was a German painter born in Stuttgart. Between 1952 and 1954 he studied as a commercial graphical artist (''Werbegraphiker''), receiving a journeyman's certificate. In 1955 he began to study painting at the Academy of Arts (''Akademie der Bildenden Künste'') in Karlsruhe and in 1957 became a member of the class of HAP Grieshaber, where he remained until 1959. In 1959 he left Karlsruhe for Berlin, to operate and live as free artist. In 1984 Stöhrer became a member of the Academy of the Arts in Berlin. Between 1981 and 1982 he was visiting professor at the ''Hochschule'' (now ''Universität'') ''der Künste'', the Berlin University of the Arts. In 1986 he obtained a chair at that same institution. Reutlingen
Reutlingen (; Swabian: ''Reitlenga'') is a city in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is the capital of the eponymous district of Reutlingen. As of June 2018, it has a population of 115,818. Reutlingen has a university of applied sciences, which was founded in 1855, originally as a weavers' school. Today, Reutlingen is home to an established textile industry and also houses machinery, leather goods and steel manufacturing facilities. It has the narrowest street in the world, Spreuerhofstraße (width 31 cm). Geography Reutlingen is located about south of the State capital of Baden-Württemberg, Stuttgart. Schleswig
The Duchy of Schleswig ( da, Hertugdømmet Slesvig; german: Herzogtum Schleswig; nds, Hartogdom Sleswig; frr, Härtochduum Slaswik) was a duchy in Southern Jutland () covering the area between about 60 km (35 miles) north and 70 km (45 mi) south of the current border between Germany and Denmark. The territory has been divided between the two countries since 1920, with Northern Schleswig in Denmark and Southern Schleswig in Germany. The region is also called Sleswick in English. Nordhorn
Nordhorn (Northern Low Saxon: ''Nothoorn'' (or ''Notthoarn'', ''Netthoarn'' and ''Noordhoorn'')) is a town in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is the district seat of Grafschaft Bentheim in Lower Saxony's southwesternmost corner near the border with the Netherlands and the boundary with North Rhine-Westphalia. Etymology One story holds that the town's name – which means "North Horn" – came about when the town was under attack, in which case a horn – the so-called ''Nothorn'' or emergency horn – was blown by the watchmen to warn the Vechteinsel (Vechte Island) inhabitants and also to call for help. Since the town lay north of Bentheim (now Bad Bentheim) and its castle, it is said that this yielded the name Nordhorn. A horn, however, was also used by the boatmen on the river Vechte to warn each other of ships' movements in fog. Esslingen am Neckar ( Swabian: ''Esslenga am Neckor'') is a town in the Stuttgart Region of Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany, seat of the District of Esslingen as well as the largest town in the district.
