Walter Eichenberger
Walter Rudolf Eichenberger (born 28 November 1946) is a retired Swiss international footballer who played in the late 1960s, the 1970s and 1980s. He played as goalkeeper. Eichenberger played his youth football for Young Boys and advanced to their first team in the 1968–69 Nationalliga A season. He played his entire career, with one small exception, for the club. He won the Swiss Cup in the 1976–77 with the Young Boys. Young Boys won the Swiss championship in the 1985–86 Nationalliga A season, Eichenberger played in only one match that season and then he ended his active football career. In total between the years 1968 and 1986 Eichenberger played 331 league games for the Young Boys. The exception was as Eichenberger was on loan to FC Basel during the first half of their 1981–82 season, as replacement for their injured goalkeeper Hans Küng. Neuchâtel Xamax Football Club Serrières or Neuchâtel Xamax FCS () is a Swiss football club based in Neuchâtel. It was created in 1970 through a merger between FC Cantonal, founded in 1906 and Swiss champions of 1916, and FC Xamax founded in 1912. Wankdorf Stadium
The Wankdorf Stadium (german: Wankdorfstadion, ) was a football stadium in the Wankdorf quarter of Bern, Switzerland, and the former home of Swiss club BSC Young Boys. It was built in 1925, and as well as serving as a club stadium, it hosted several important matches, including the finals of the 1954 FIFA World Cup, the 1960–61 European Cup, and the 1988–89 European Cup Winners' Cup. The stadium was demolished in 2001, and replaced in 2005 by the Stadion Wankdorf (then Stade de Suisse) on the same site. Hans Küng (born 24 April 1949) is a Swiss retired footballer who played as goalkeeper in the late 1960s, 1970s and early 1980s. Club career Born in Weinfelden Küng played his youth football with the local club in Amriswil. Küng came to FC Winterthur from the first division club FC Amriswil in 1968, after the Winterthur team manager noticed him in a cup game against them in November 1968. In Winterthur he was first signed as the third goalie, but during his first two seasons with the club he did not once play for their first team. This changed in the autumn of 1970 when coach Willy Sommer gave him preference over regular goalkeeper Werner Frei. During the so-called "''glorious years of FC Winterthur''" between 1970 and 1975 he was the team's first goalkeeper.
