''Walt Disney's Classic Cartoon Favorites'' is a series of DVDs by Walt Disney Home Entertainment. Each release would feature around one hour of ''Disney'' animated short films, grouped by a starring character or a theme. It is based on the original Walt Disney Cartoon Classics line of videotapes of the 1980s. As opposed to the chronological nature of the ''Walt Disney Treasures'' line, each release would feature various cartoons in no particular order. The series featured a total of four waves of releases, between January 11, 2005 and April 11, 2006. Another very similar line was '' Walt Disney's Funny Factory''. Releases Wave One The first wave of four releases came on January 11, 2005. Each release focuses on a particular character, or pair of characters. DVDs
The DVD (common abbreviation for Digital Video Disc or Digital Versatile Disc) is a digital optical disc data storage format. It was invented and developed in 1995 and first released on November 1, 1996, in Japan. The medium can store any kind of digital data and has been widely used for video programs (watched using DVD players) or formerly for storing software and other computer files as well. DVDs offer significantly higher storage capacity than compact discs (CD) while having the same dimensions. A standard DVD can store up to 4.7 GB of storage, while variants can store up to a maximum of 17.08 GB. Prerecorded DVDs are mass-produced using molding machines that physically stamp data onto the DVD. Such discs are a form of DVD-ROM because data can only be read and not written or erased. ''Inferior Decorator'' is a 1948 animated Donald Duck short film produced in Technicolor by Walt Disney Productions and released to theaters by RKO Radio Pictures. Plot Spike the bee is pollinating flowers outside Donald Duck's house in his garden. He hears Donald singing, and mistakes the wallpaper for flowers. Donald teases Spike by getting him stuck in glue before freeing him, causing the bee to hit the light; Donald pushes him outside and shuts the window. But Spike gets revenge; he removes the key from the lock and decides to sting Donald's rear end, but misses and gets stuck on the wallpaper glue. Donald tugs with the wallpaper and Spike frees himself from the glue. But this causes the wallpaper to stick to the ceiling, with Donald's hands glued in the wallpaper. Spike sees this opportunity to sting Donald's rear end and dives right at him. How To Swim (1942 Film)
''How to Swim'' is a cartoon made by Walt Disney Productions in 1942, featuring Goofy. Plot The cartoon opens with Goofy demonstrating the bathing suit and using a piano stool to demonstrate swimming techniques, such as the windmill stroke, the Australian crawl, side stroke and the breaststroke. As goofy is doing this, he is unaware that he, using the stool, has exited his house and, with the help of a street light, got back in his house, but had accidentally fallen in the bath. Next, Goofy demonstrates changing into swimming gear in a beach locker, which is too big for him. As he is trying to get on his swimming gear, he knocks over all the other beach lockers and the one he is in falls into the sea. The Art Of Skiing
''The Art of Skiing'' is a Goofy cartoon made by Walt Disney Productions in 1941. It has historical significance as the first cartoon to use the now-famous Goofy holler, as well as the short that led to the "How to..." series, beginning with ''How to Play Baseball'' (1942) and continuing through ''How to Hook Up Your Home Theater'' (2007). Notes Goofy goes to Sugar Bowl Ski Resort, to learn how to ski. The name of the resort can be seen in the opening frames of the cartoon. Sugar Bowl Ski Resort was used because Walt Disney had an interest in the Sugar Bowl ski area, to the extent that one of the peaks at Sugar Bowl is named Mt. Disney after him. The narrator and the opening titles mention an alternate (and obscure) pronunciation of skiing as ''shee-ing'', despite the narrator mostly pronouncing it vice versa throughout the short. Goofy is a cartoon character created by The Walt Disney Company. He is a tall, Anthropomorphism, anthropomorphic dog who typically wears a turtle neck and vest, with pants, shoes, white gloves, and a tall hat originally designed as a rumpled fedora. Goofy is a close friend of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, and Max Goof's father. ''Chef Donald'' is a 1941 American Donald Duck short film directed by Jack King and produced by Walt Disney. Plot Donald is listening to a radio cooking program hosted by Old Mother Mallard and mixes up a batch of waffles, but he's distracted and uses rubber cement instead of baking powder. The batter proves to be unusually stiff. First, his spoon gets stuck and the batter acts like a rubber-band airplane, flying the bowl around the room. Next, Donald falls with his head in the batter, he tries to get out but initially, he can't (with angry quacking and a lot of bubbles popping), and his tail in the waffle iron. Then he tries to chop it with an ax, and the ax flies up and splits the room in half. Finally, he throws the bowl out the door; it sticks to the knob while the bowl gets stuck between two trees. He soon finds her up in the tree eating leaves from a branch and Donald calls Clementine to come down and says good morning to her. ''Donald's Vacation'' is a Donald Duck cartoon made by The Walt Disney Company and released by RKO Pictures on August 9, 1940. The film, which was directed by Jack King, shows Donald Duck having many troubles with the outdoors when he goes on vacation. Plot Donald Duck is taking a vacation in a canoe. He is shown to walk over rocks while playing a guitar when the canoe can't go, since his feet and legs are sticking out the bottom of it. While playing his guitar, he unwittingly goes through a small waterfall. He coughs violently and shakes water off, and gets a fish in his instrument, but he quickly calms down. However, just as he continues playing, he goes over a waterfall and falls to the bottom. After a furious outburst, he emerges from the water with the canoe on his back like a turtle's shell. ''Donald's Dog Laundry'' is a 1940 American Donald Duck short film directed by Jack King and produced by Walt Disney. Plot Donald Duck constructs an automated dog washer. He attempts to use Pluto as his test subject, but Pluto refuses and hides in his dog house. Donald uses a rubber bone as bait, but it comes off the rope after a tug of war. When Donald uses a cat hand puppet as a dog bait, some soap is splashed on Pluto, making him look like a poodle. At this, Donald takes the opportunity and proceeds to get Pluto into the dog washer, but by then, the soap went into Pluto's nose, making him sneeze. It resulted in Donald flying into the dog washer and Pluto hitting the electric pole with the controls for the dog washer, thus activating it.
