Walnut Creek is a village in Wayne County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 835 in 2010. It is included in the Goldsboro, North Carolina Metropolitan Statistical Area. The village is built around the Walnut Creek Country Club. Geography Walnut Creek is located at (35.309358, -77.867517). According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.9 square miles (4.8 km), of which, 1.5 square miles (4.0 km) of it is land and 0.3 square miles (0.8 km) of it (17.20%) is water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 859 people, 322 households, and 293 families residing in the village. The population density was 556.1 people per square mile (215.4/km). There were 332 housing units at an average density of 214.9 per square mile (83.2/km). Interstate 795 (North Carolina)
Interstate 795 (I-795) is a auxiliary Interstate Highway in the U.S. state of North Carolina. It connects the city of Goldsboro to I-95 just south of Wilson, paralleling the northern portion of U.S. Route 117 (US 117). The road runs a concurrency with US 264 and I-587 in the last section of the route. It serves as a primary freeway spur for the city of Goldsboro to the Interstate Highway system, as well part of a major cargo route for the cities of Down East North Carolina, which was a part of the impetus for its designation in 2007. I-795 began in 2007 as a renumbering of the US 117 freeway. Since oversized trucks could not use US 117, the state decided to get the road approved for Interstate designation. Wayne Executive Jetport is a public use airport three miles north of Goldsboro, in Wayne County, North Carolina. The airport is owned by Wayne County. It was formerly Goldsboro-Wayne Municipal Airport, when it was owned by both City of Goldsboro and Wayne County. The GWW code is not currently used by the IATA, but it was previously assigned to the former RAF Gatow in Berlin, Germany. Facilities The airport covers 249 acres (101 ha) at an elevation of 133 feet (41 m). Its single runway, 5/23, is 5,500 by 100 feet (1,676 x 30 m) asphalt.
