Wallace W. Fox
Wallace Fox (March 9, 1895 – June 30, 1958) was an American film director. He directed more than 80 films between 1927 and 1953. He was born in Purcell, Oklahoma, and died in Hollywood, California. Purcell is a city in and the county seat of McClain County, Oklahoma, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city population was 6,651. ''Bullets for Bandits'' is a 1942 American Western film directed by Wallace W. Fox, starring Wild Bill Elliott, Tex Ritter, and Frank Mitchell. Plot Queen Katey is the owner of a large ranch. There is the beginning of a movement among the local homesteaders to drive Katey out, so that her land can be divided. Queen has a long-lost son, Prince, who she sends one of her ranch hands, Cannonball, to find. Cannonball arrives at the office of the Badlands County sheriff, Tex Martin. Cannonball explains to Tex that Prince has the letters "KT" on his forearm, where they had been branded when he was a youth by a man named Clem Jeter. Tex thinks he's seen that brand, and directs Cannonball to the saloon. While Cannonball is still on his way, Wild Bill Hickok is at the bar in the saloon. ''Gunslingers'' is a 1950 American western film written by Adele Buffington and directed by Wallace W. Fox. It stars Whip Wilson, Andy Clyde, and Reno Browne. Plot Lawman Whip Wilson arrests Tim Cramer and his gang after they conduct a payroll robbery. As he talks to Tim, Whip learns that Tim turned to a life of crime after his father was recently accused of cattle rustling. Lou, Tim's father, was a blacksmith in Rockville, the local town. When he goes into town, he learns from "Rawhide" Rosie Rawlins that Tim's father, Lou, the local blacksmith, is currently under trial in the town's saloon for his alleged crime. After Lou is convicted for rustling and sentenced to death, Marshal Dean takes him out of the saloon and is leading him to the jail. The 33rd serial released by Columbia Pictures, it was based on the comic book cowboy Vigilante, who first appeared in ''Action Comics'', published by DC Comics.
