Walking On Sunshine (Eddy Grant Song)
"Walking on Sunshine" is a song by Eddy Grant, and the title track of his third studio album. It was released as a single in 1979. Grant's original version was not a hit, but the song was remade three years later by Rockers Revenge, a studio project assembled by producer Arthur Baker, which became the hit version. Rockers Revenge version Rockers Revenge released their version as a single in 1982, with vocals by Donnie Calvin. It peaked at number four on the UK Singles Chart and reached the top thirty in Belgium, the Netherlands, and New Zealand. The single did not chart on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, but was number one on the ''Billboard'' Hot Dance Club Play chart for one week and also peaked at number 63 on the ''Billboard'' Hot Black Singles chart. The song's bassline would later be sampled in Eleanor's 1988 song "Adventure", itself a number-one Dance Club Play hit in 1988. Eddy Grant
Edmond Montague Grant (born 5 March 1948) is a Guyanese-British singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, known for his genre-blending sound; his music has blended elements of pop, British rock, soul, funk, reggae, electronic music, African polyrhythms, and Latin music genres such as samba, among many others. In addition to this, he also helped to pioneer the genre of "Ringbang". He was a founding member of the Equals, one of the United Kingdom's first racially-mixed pop groups who are best remembered for their million-selling UK chart-topper, the Grant-penned " Baby, Come Back". His subsequent solo career included the 1982 song " I Don't Wanna Dance", plus the platinum 1983 single "Electric Avenue", which is his biggest international hit. Eleanor Academia (born 1964 in San Diego, California), or simply known as Eleanor, is a dance music singer and producer. Career Academia is of Filipino Hawaiian descent, and was born and raised in National City, San Diego. She went on to release her debut album entitled ''Jungle Wave'' in 1987 on Columbia Records.
