Walking Bout Company
S.V. Walking Boyz Company also SV WBC or WBC, is a Surinamese association football club based in Paramaribo. They have won the Surinamese Hoofdklasse title three times. The club play at the Essed Stadion with a capacity of 3,500 spectators, which is also the National Stadium and is shared with several clubs. History Walking Boyz Company were founded on 16 January 1997 in Paramaribo. Seven years later the team won its first national championship, winning the first Championship-Super Cup double in Suriname in 2004. WBC went on to win two more national titles in 2006 and 2009, winning the Super Cup (Suriname President's Cup) as well on both occasions. Due to their results, the club were able to participate in the CFU Club Championship, the International Caribbean club competition which leads to qualification for the CONCACAF Champions League. Dr. Ir. Franklin Essed Stadion, formerly known as the Flora Stadion and commonly called the Frank Essed Stadion, is a multi-purpose stadium in Paramaribo, Suriname. It is home to S.V. Leo Victor, Leo Victor S.V. Cosmos, Cosmos, Royal '95, and Super Red Eagles. It is also the home stadium of Sportvereniging Nationaal Leger, SNL, the football club of the Military of Suriname, national military of Suriname. The stadium was named after Surinamese politician and forestry scientist Frank Essed. Location The Frank Essed Stadium is located in Southwestern part of Paramaribo, in the Flora neighborhood. Alex Pereira Soares (born February 1, 1982) known as Alex, is a Brazilian footballer who last played as a forward for Walking Boyz Company in the SVB Hoofdklasse. He finished the 2006–07 season as the league's top scorer while playing for SV Jai Hanuman. Career Born in Belém, Brazil, Alex moved to Paramaribo, Suriname joining SV Jai Hanuman competing in the SVB Eerste Klasse, the 2nd tier of football in Suriname. Helping Jai Hanuman to win the league title, and thus promoting to the SVB Hoofdklasse, Alex provided 28 goals, finishing as the league top scorer while helping his side to a 5th-place finish in the league table once promoted to the top flight. Gregory Walter Rigters (February 26, 1985 – December 4, 2017) was a Surinamese footballer. Rigters last played as a forward for Walking Boyz Company in the Hoofdklasse, and for the Suriname national team. He died following a traffic collision on December 4, 2017.
