Wales National Women's Cricket Team
The Wales women's cricket team is the Welsh team for women's cricket. They play their home matches at various grounds across the country, including Spytty Park, Newport and Pontarddulais Park, Pontarddulais. They are captained by Lauren Parfitt. As in men's cricket, Wales does not normally compete as a separate country internationally, instead being represented as part of the England team, but in 2005 they played in the European Championship tournament as it was being held in Wales. They finished in third place in the tournament. The team regularly participate in the English domestic county structure, and in 2019 they competed in Division Two of the final season of the Women's County Championship. Lauren Amy Parfitt (born 1 April 1994) is a Welsh cricketer who is currently Captain (cricket), captain of Wales women's national cricket team, Wales, as well as playing for Western Storm. She plays as a right-handed Batting (cricket), batter and occasional Left-arm orthodox spin, slow left-arm orthodox Bowling (cricket), bowler. 2010 Women's County Championship
The 2010 Women's County One-Day Championship was the 14th cricket Women's County Championship season. It ran from May to September and saw 33 county teams and teams representing Ireland, Scotland, Wales and the Netherlands compete in a series of divisions. Sussex Women won the County Championship as winners of the top division, their fifth title. Competition format Teams played matches within a series of divisions with the winners of the top division being crowned County Champions. Matches were played using a one day format with 50 overs per side. The championship worked on a points system, with placings decided by average points of completed games. Leg Spin
Leg spin is a type of spin bowling in cricket. A leg spinner bowls right-arm with a wrist spin action. The leg spinner's normal delivery causes the ball to spin from right to left (from the bowler's perspective) when the ball bounces on the pitch. For a right-handed batsman, that is away from the leg side, and this is where it gets the name leg break. Leg spinners bowl mostly leg breaks, varying them by adjusting the line and length, and amount of side spin versus topspin of the deliveries. Leg spinners also typically use variations of flight by sometimes looping the ball in the air, allowing any cross-breeze and the aerodynamic effects of the spinning ball to cause the ball to dip and drift before bouncing and spinning or "turning", sharply. Ireland National Women's Cricket Team
The Ireland women's cricket team represents Ireland in international women's cricket. Cricket in Ireland is governed by Cricket Ireland and organised on an All-Ireland basis, meaning the Irish women's team represents both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. The England women's cricket team represents England and Wales in international women's cricket. Since 1998, they have been governed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), having been previously governed by the Women's Cricket Association. The Worcestershire Women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English historic county of Worcestershire. They play their home games at various grounds across the county, including Chester Road, Kidderminster and Stourbridge Road, Himley. They are captained by Chloe Hill. West Midlands Regional Cup
The West Midlands Regional Cup is a domestic women's one-day cricket competition in England. Organised by the Central Sparks regional team, the tournament involves four teams based in or near the West Midlands, with its first edition taking place in 2022. Staffordshire, Wales, Warwickshire and Worcestershire are the four teams competing, with Warwickshire also playing "in a consortium" with Shropshire. The 2022 Women's Twenty20 Cup, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2022 Vitality Women's County T20, was the 13th edition of the Women's Twenty20 Cup, an English women's cricket Twenty20 domestic competition. It took place in April and May 2022, with 35 teams taking part, organised into eight regional groups. The Somerset Women cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English ceremonial county of Somerset. They play their home games at various grounds across Somerset, most often in Taunton, and are captained by Sophie Luff. Somerset consistently competed in either Division 1 or Division 2 of the Women's County Championship, and won Division 2 of the Women's Twenty20 Cup in 2019. The 2021 Women's Twenty20 Cup, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2021 Vitality Women's County T20, was the 12th cricket Women's Twenty20 Cup tournament, taking place in April and May, with 36 teams taking part: 34 county teams plus Scotland and Wales. There was no overall winner, with Hertfordshire, Nottinghamshire, Lancashire, Kent, Gloucestershire and Somerset winning their respective regions. Gabrielle Amber Basketter (born 12 April 1993) is an English cricketer who currently plays for Worcestershire. An all-rounder, she is a right-handed batter and right-arm off break bowler. She has previously played for Hampshire, Wales and Central Sparks. Early life Basketter was born on 12 April 1993 in Portsmouth.
