Waldo (musician)
Waldo (born Marko Reijonen, 1967) is a Finnish Eurodance musician. His solo hits, sang in Jamaican accent, are "It's About Time" and "Feel So Good" in 1995. The number of sales of the album "It's About Time" was certified as gold record in Finland in 1996. Waldo has also written songs for different artists such as Christian Forss. After 1998 Waldo has been a lead singer and songwriter of his band Waldo's People. They represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2009 in Moscow, Russia with Lose Control. The group won qualification to the final as the jury's selected qualifier from the first semi-final. In the final however, they finished 25th and last place, scoring 22 points. Marko Reijonen owned two clothing shops in Sello and Myyrmanni called Waldo's Clothing. Sello
Sello (Finnish for ''cello'') is a shopping mall in the Leppävaara, Espoo, Finland. The mall contains more than 170 shops and services including a concert hall and a library. The largest stores in the shopping center are Prisma, K-Citymarket, Power, Tokmanni, Halonen, H&M, and Intersport Megastore. The Sello is separated into three parts: the oldest part (finished in 2002), the second part (finished in 2005) and the newest part (finished in 2008). The oldest part of Sello has two hypermarkets, three banks, contains Espoo City's main library, a concert hall, gym, restaurants and cafes, pharmacy, an Alko and a music academy. The second part of Sello has many restaurants and smaller stores, and multiple sport stores such as Intersport and Stadium. Nurmijärvi
Nurmijärvi () is the most populated rural municipality of Finland, located north of the capital Helsinki. The neighboring municipalities of Nurmijärvi are Espoo, Vantaa, Tuusula, Hyvinkää and Vihti, and it is part of the Greater Helsinki. The population of the municipality is inhabitants. In recent decades, it has been one of the fastest growing municipalities in the Greater Helsinki and also in whole Finland in terms of population. The close proximity to Helsinki has led to a considerable growth of the major villages such as Klaukkala, Rajamäki and Röykkä. Lepsämä is a village in the municipality of Nurmijärvi, Finland. There is a comprehensive school in Lepsämä, which was partially destroyed by arson fire in October 2019. With the exception of the village kiosk, there are no grocery stores or other daily services in Lepsämä, but the nearest ones are available less than five kilometers from Klaukkala, the largest village in the Nurmijärvi municipality; in the past, however, the village had a shop, a bank and a post office. The residential area called Lintumetsä, which is always growing next to village, is actually part of Klaukkala, although it is misleadingly located near Lepsämä. Myyrmanni is a shopping center located at the Myyrmäki suburb of Vantaa, Finland. The center was built in the early 1990s and it has over 90 stores and 1,100 parking spaces. Lose Control (Waldo's People Song)
Finland participated at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 with the song "Lose Control" written by Waldo, Karima, Ari Lehtonen and Annie Kratz-Gutå. The song was performed by the band Waldo's People. The Finnish broadcaster Yleisradio (Yle) organised the national final ''Euroviisut 2009'' in order to select the Finnish entry for the 2009 contest in Moscow, Russia. 12 entries were selected to compete in the national final, which consisted of three semi-finals, a Second Chance round and a final, taking place in January 2009. Eight entries ultimately competed in the final on 30 January where votes from the public selected "Lose Control" performed by Waldo's People as the winner.
